Cherry Hill Mayoral Proclamations

Church Road Civic Association Day
WHEREAS it is the intention of the Mayor and Council of Cherry Hill Township to focus attention on noteworthy occasions and events; and
WHEREAS in 1928, the Church Road Civic Association was organized as a forum to teach the spirit of America
n patriotism, encourage community civic pride, cultivate harmony, and stimulate interest in all local matters; and
WHEREAS the Church Road Civic Association building sits on the former Cooper Farm, formerly owned by Rue and Mary Meng who were founding members of the Association and who graciously donated the land to the Church Road Civic Association; and
WHEREAS following an accident in January 2012, where a motor vehicle hit the building, members of the Civic Association and the Fire Department worked hard to bring the building back to working order, and reconstructed a new exterior and interior; and
WHEREAS the Township recognizes the enormous contributions of all civic associations such as the Church Road Civic Association and the powerful impact had on the community as a whole; and
WHEREAS the Mayor and Council strongly support the initiatives and events promoted by the Church Road Civic Association and commend the hard work and dedication of all of the Association’s members. NOW, THEREFORE, I, CHUCK CAHN, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Township of Cherry Hill, County of Camden, State of New Jersey, do hereby proclaim March 9, 2013 as
Church Road Civic Association Day
in the Township of Cherry Hill and do urge all citizens to join with me and Council in celebrating the Re-Grand Opening of the Civic Association building and welcome members to their new “home.”
