The camp, created by the Order of Alhambra, ensures that those with intellectual and developmental disabilities have the same experiences and memories many of us have of a great week at summer camp. Many of our residents enjoy a week at St. Francis Camp on the Lake in Jerome, MI. This amazing camp is made possible by The Order of Alhambra, a Catholic fraternal organization dedicated to serving those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are so grateful for this amazing camp and the experiences residents of St. Louis Center enjoy each summer. It's definitely a highlight of the year!

St. Louis Center residents had a great time volunteering at Barn Sanctuary in Chelsea this week! We made much needed progress in the garden where food is grown for the animals at Barn Sanctuary. We also helped clear the donkey pasture of manure, which keeps the flies down. We learned new facts about the operation each time a barn worker came by. This experience is part of the Skill Building Program at St. Louis Center. Thank you to Barn Sanctuary for a great experience!

The excitement was contagious as our athletes took part in the Opening Ceremony of the Michigan Special Olympics Summer Games!

Residents joined thousands of athletes from across the state on the Central Michigan University football field to kick off an unforgettable weekend of competition and friendship.

The ceremony set the stage for a weekend filled with courage, determination, and teamwork. As our athletes marched onto the field, they proudly represented St. Louis Center and the incredible spirit of our community.

The games were officially underway!

What an incredible weekend at the Michigan Special Olympics Summer Games in Mt. Pleasant!

Sixteen St. Louis Center residents proudly represented our community from May 28th-30th, competing in Bocce Ball and Volleyball. Our athletes demonstrated determination, teamwork, sportsmanship, and plenty of St. Louis Center spirit throughout the competition.

The group stayed on the beautiful Central Michigan University campus, participated in the Opening Ceremony on the football field, competed throughout Friday and Saturday, and enjoyed a carnival and dance on Friday evening.

One of the highlights of the trip was watching residents cheer for one another, celebrate victories together, and encourage teammates every step of the way. The friendships, memories, and experiences made this a truly special event.

Congratulations to all of our athletes. We are so proud of you!
