🎉🌟 Rotary Rocks Chattanooga Continues to Grow! 🌟🎉

We are thrilled to welcome two outstanding new members to Rotary Rocks Chattanooga: Courtenay Cholovich and Jill Greblick! 💙💛

👏 Jill has already stepped forward to serve on our Sergeant-at-arms Team, helping us continue to grow our club and expand our impact throughout the community.

🎒 Courtenay has hit the ground running by helping support a partnership among Rotary clubs and Chattanooga Neighborhood Enterprise to purchase and stuff backpacks with school supplies for students in the Oak Grove community this July. What an incredible way to begin her Rotary journey!

✨ We are truly fortunate to have gained two enthusiastic, service-minded members who are already making a difference. Their energy, ideas, and commitment to Service Above Self will help Rotary Rocks Chattanooga continue to thrive and serve our community.

🎉 In other Rotary Rocks Chattanooga news… we’ve been BUSY doing good and celebrating BIG! 🎉

🏆 HUGE shoutout to Mari for WINNING the award for bringing the MOST GUESTS to a Rotary meeting! 👏

Mari clearly understood the assignment:
“Bring a friend.”
…and said,
“How about ALL OF THEM?” 😂

Also, a big round of applause for:
✨ Macy Fleenor
✨ Christina Albert

Both were recognized for achieving ⭐ PAUL HARRIS FELLOW ⭐ status!

So what does that mean?
The Paul Harris Fellow recognition is awarded to Rotarians and supporters who contribute — or have contributions made in their honor — to the The Rotary Foundation. Those gifts help fund life-changing projects around the world involving:
🌍 Clean water
💉 Disease prevention
📚 Education
🕊️ Peacebuilding
👩‍👧 Supporting women and families
…and so much more.

And here’s the really exciting part… 👀

💙 Our club has achieved 100% Foundation participation! 💙

That means EVERY member of Rotary Rocks Chattanooga has contributed to the Rotary Foundation — proving that even a newer club can make a GLOBAL impact.

Now members are slowly receiving their official certificates and pins… and let’s be honest… Rotarians LOVE a good pin moment. 😂📍

Service above self… but also slightly about the accessories. 😉✨

🚨🌪️ DISASTER DOESN’T SEND A CALENDAR INVITE. 🌪️🚨

Does your Rotary club have a Disaster Relief Plan in place… or is the current strategy “somebody bring snacks and we’ll figure it out”? 👀

On Tuesday, Tom Kale joined Rotary Rocks Chattanooga and got us FIRED UP and READY TO WORK 💪

He laid out practical ways clubs can prepare NOW so when disaster strikes in our district or neighboring districts, Rotarians aren’t scrambling — we’re SERVING.

✅ Communication plans
✅ Volunteer coordination
✅ Supply & donation readiness
✅ Community partnerships
✅ Boots-on-the-ground response

And because Rotary Rocks Chattanooga doesn’t just talk about service… we DO service — members immediately stepped up to lead efforts in creating our club’s disaster response plan. 🔥

Because when communities need help, Rotarians don’t ask:
“Whose job is this?”

We ask:
“How fast can we get there?” 🚚💨

District 6780 is building a culture of preparedness, action, and impact — and we’re proud to be part of it.

✨ Rotary Rocks Chattanooga — A Weekend That Mattered ✨

Armed Forces Day Parade
We showed up with grateful hearts—honoring, waving, and reminding our community that service starts with showing up in support.

🎉 Red Bank Jubilee - Alongside the Chattanooga Breakfast Rotary Club

A day full of real connection—sharing who we are, what we do, and how others can be part…and yes, we had a little TikTok-trending sparkle while doing it. ✨Two clubs, one mission—stronger together and proud to serve side by side.

💫 Our Impact (the part we love most)
• Conversations that turned into curiosity about Rotary
• New faces who now know they belong
• Visibility and relationship builds

🌿 Who We Are
Not just a club—but a group that shows up, connects deeply, and creates meaningful change (with a little fun mixed in).

🚨 HOW TO GET YOUR MEMBERS TO VOLUNTEER (WITHOUT BEGGING) 🚨

Step 1: Don’t call it “work.”
Step 2: Add snacks.
Step 3: Add friends.
Step 4: Add a little chaos and a lot of purpose.

Boom. Done. 💥

🛒 THE SECRET SAUCE: GROCERY STORE TAKEOVER

We show up to a grocery store (with a very important adjacent depot featuring wine, craft beer, and microbrews 🍷🍺—purely for morale - obviously).

Then we:
👯‍♀️ Split into TEAMS (because everything is more fun when it’s slightly competitive)
🛍️ Each team tackles a shopping list like it’s Supermarket Sweep: Rotary Edition
💳 All meet up and check out together like a flash mob of do-gooders

🍻 MANDATORY “TEAM BUILDING” HOUR

After shopping, we head to the depot for one hour of very serious socializing (networking… with snacks AND Polio Plus Donuts… and beverages… for the mission, of course).

Roll call of absolute legends who showed up:
Jane, Chrissy, Chappell, Beth, Katie, Melissa C, Kimberly R, Kim E, Sabrena, Vicki, Abby, Ryann, Courtenay, Annie, Linda…

…and with our Cornbread Festival crew 🌽💛

👉 TOTAL: 114 SERVICE HOURS IN ONE WEEK. 😎

💥 We took full advantage of our Sip & Savor social hour (yes—saving the world and sipping responsibly 🍷😄) to celebrate something truly special: presenting six new Paul Harris Fellows with their certificates! 🎉 It was one of those proud, goosebumps moments—seeing the impact, generosity, and heart of this group recognized. The excitement was real, and it’s pretty incredible to say that we now have all of our members as Paul Harris Fellows. That’s not just a milestone—that’s a statement about who we are and how we show up. 💙 Way to go Sabrena – Vicki – Meghan – Abby – Ryann – Kim E.

🚗 FROM CHAOS TO IMPACT

Members loaded groceries + coolers like a well-oiled machine (or at least a very enthusiastic one), packed cars, and got everything ready for:

🍹 OUR FIRST EVER FUNDRAISER — MOCKTAIL MANIA 😎
📍 Red Bank Jubilee

🎯 THE REAL SECRET?

People show up because you ask AND:
✨ It’s fun
✨ It’s organized-ish
✨ Their friends are there
✨ They feel like they’re part of something that matters

🙌 So if you’re wondering how to get people involved…

Make it easy.
Make it social.
Make it meaningful.
…and maybe add donuts. Always add donuts. 🍩

Happy Purple Pinkie Day from Rotary Rocks Chattanooga! 💜

We picked up 56 boxes of donuts from Dunkin’ on Broad Street and brought them to our club meeting at Food City (also on Broad). The brewhouse there—with wine, craft beers, microbrews on tap, and an outdoor patio—made for a great gathering spot!

We shared donuts with members in attendance, store employees, delivered 4 boxes to The Union Gospel Mission and have 14 boxes remaining, which will be delivered to the Chatt Foundation.
So proud of our club—every single member participated in the PolioPlus campaign, raising a total of $1,400! That’s 100% participation!! Not bad for a club that’s less than a year old.
Huge shout out to Annie Fricker, our Foundation Chair, for rallying everyone and making this effort a success. This is what impact looks like! 💪

Rotary Rocks Chattanooga just threw a Pollinator Party… and let’s just say, this parking garage didn’t know what hit it 🌼🐝💥

At the Hamilton County parking garage on Walnut Street—an area that’s been rocking the “weeds and neglect” aesthetic for years—we said, “absolutely not.” So what did we do?
We sprayed it, cleared it, composted it, planted it, and mulched it like the pollinator pros we are.

✨ Enter: 14 awesome volunteers✨ Exit: one sad, barren patch of dirt → glow-up of the year

We’re talking a fresh mix of pollinators and wildflowers ready to turn this overlooked corner into a buzzing little paradise.
And here’s the real kicker… this isn’t just any spot. This garage serves folks visiting for jury duty, County Commission meetings, Register’s office, courts, driver’s licenses, marriage licenses, taxes—you name it. It’s a high-traffic, real-life adulting hub… and now it’s getting a dose of beauty and joy.🌿
Hands got dirty ✔️Sweat was shed ✔️Good vibes were planted ✔️
And the payoff?Just wait until everything blooms… it’s going to be chef’s kiss perfection 🌸🔥
Rotary Rocks Chattanooga out here turning “meh” into MAGICAL—one pollinator party at a time 💪🐝
