To God be the Great Glory!
John 3:16
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
God's Missionary Journey to Honolulu, Hawaii (Matthew 28:16-20)
The Missionary Journey began with the Lord ministering to my heart one day to GO to Honolulu, Hawaii and He would provide me a team. I said yes Lord! (Isaiah 6:8). Though in this Missionary Journey I did not have a Team, I had never been to Hawaii and the plane flights were long, yet I knew that my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ would provide me all that I needed for the journey.
The enemy battled against me in many various hard ways in the preparation of the Missionary Journey, but God fought every battle and WON. (Exodus 4:14)
Yet, what was in my heart was, Lord, I’m trusting you and the Lord continuously strengthen me and moved me forward.
The Lord provided everything that was needed...everything! Yet, too I'm thankful to my Great Lord and Savior for the body of Jesus Christ and for every prayer and donation... Thank each of you so very much for your love and kindness towards me!
The day arrived for the journey to Honolulu, Hawaii, traveling on three planes which the travel totaled about 13-14 hours with layovers. And the journey back to the USA one flight was almost 8 hours flight and the Lord gave me a time of beautiful sweet peace, rest and sleep! What a Mighty God we serve!
But throughout the years of the Lord’s Missionary journeys, I’m not one that enjoys plane flights, but trusting the Lord His Peace greatly sustained me mightily as I asked Him to let me use the long flights to rest and sleep and He totally absolutely did what He promised me!
Our Great God provided a wonderful group of young adult missionaries in Hawaii as the Lord enabled us to be blessed as we sought to truly be a precious blessing to them
Our day began at 7am which was breakfast and as I trusted the Lord in moving forward in the Lord’s commissioning of service that day. Preparing our gift bags, tracts and God’s books. Yet, each day ended by 9-9:30pm. Yet, by God’s loving mighty grace, providing tents, personal hygiene items, food, and various other resources!
During the day the Lord opened the day for us to minister in various areas such as, ministering in a wonderful Nursing Home!
Also, the Lord enabled a precious team member and me to provide counseling at a certain location.
The Lord also enabled us to minister at a homeless Shelter and ministering along beside a wonderful ministry in Honolulu Hawaii that lovingly but boldly shares Jesus Christ. We worked along beside Pastor Ed a pioneer of serving in hard areas as together served prostitutes, homeless and greatly broken! I met Pastor Ed as I had heard of how the Lord was using the ministry in Honolulu, Hawaii. I met him while there through a phone call and Pastor Ed said “come join us as we serve”. What a blessed and God awesome experience.
Also, at various times visiting and sharing the Mighty Word of God in China town. China town in Honolulu, Hawaii is considered a great place of danger and a place of darkness and hopelessness. We were warned to leave China town before it became dark. Yet, Praise God! The Lord enabled us to share the Great Hope of the Gospel and protecting us at times the night hour quickly had come upon us!
The Lord opened many doors to wherever lives were, He enabled us to reach lives, such as parks and tent city.
The Lord enabled the Missionary Team and me to continuously hear the hearts of precious folks, share the Gospel and Pray!
Yet, the Lord provided a donation of reading glasses prior to leaving for Hawaii as the homeless and shelter were provided glasses!
Also, the Lord provided an open door in a homeless shelter, but the only restriction was no pictures taken during our time there. Truly, what a blessing! Praise God! Though not a Christian organization they allowed us to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and pray with their residents. The Lord has opened the door to bring a team and go back next year! Look at God! Look at Grace! (Jeremiah 32:27)
Also, on various occasions, late evening or night we walked the sidewalks on the beach front sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and providing Gospel Tracts. Often there were those that rejected the Gospel of Jesus Christ with an abrupt waving of the hand, a stern look or a gentle No!
Yet, often seeing the despair of broken lives sadly there despair sadden my heart, yet the Power of the Holy Spirit strengthen the urgency in my heart to reach a hurting, lost and dying world.
To God be all the Great Glory!
By God’s wonderful and Mighty Grace, while there in Honolulu, Hawaii, the Lord enabled me to build many relationships and, by God’s Mightily Grace, next year I will again be traveling to Honolulu, Hawaii. Those that the Lord enabled me to meet we are now planning for next year! The Lord has given me many contacts in Honolulu, Hawaii that are now my Hawaiian family! Thank you for your prayers, God heard your prayers! God is Faithful! (I Corinthians 1:9)
To God be the Great Glory!
Love, Sister Rita
