On behalf of the men and women of the Signal Mountain Fire Fighters Association, Local 3759, we want to express our sincere appreciation for the support this community has always shown its firefighters. Time and again, in moments of need and throughout the years, the people of Signal Mountain have stood behind us with trust, encouragement, and a true sense of community. That support has never gone unnoticed, and it means more to our members than we can adequately put into words.

Today, we simply want to reaffirm that same commitment to you. Our entire membership remains united and fully dedicated to the community we are proud to serve. Signal Mountain is more than just the place where we work—it is a community made up of our friends, neighbors, and families, and its people will always remain at the heart of what our Association represents.

We’re glad to see Vice Mayor Clay Crumbliss officially running for the Town of Signal Mountain Council again. He’s been a strong advocate for the Signal Mountain Fire Fighters Association, Local 3759 which represents 100% of our fire department employees. He is always willing to listen and work through issues with us. Vice Mayor Crumbliss has been receptive and willing to make a real difference. If he’s willing to sit down out of his busy day to talk to us, it shows his care for both the people he serves and the town, knowing emergency services are the top priority. It makes the men and women of the association feel valued. That’s the environment we want to foster for the town of Signal Mountain as a whole. From the men and women of SMFFA, Best of luck on your campaign sir. We’re looking forward to continuing these conversations on the issues that matter most in our community.

The Signal Mountain Fire Fighters Association, Local 3759, is making it a core mission to be actively involved in our local and state elections. We believe it’s vital to ensure those who do right by our firefighters, first responders, and community are heard. With that said, we are proud to announce that the executive board and membership has officially endorsed State Representative Michele Reneau of the 27th District. Michele has been an outstanding advocate for firefighters and first responders, pushing forward legislation that directly supports our mission. Beyond that, she’s been a true friend to the Signal Mountain Fire Fighters Association, always reaching out, listening, and standing with us. This isn’t about politics; it’s about who does right by us all. We are committed to ensuring that those who protect and serve are represented by the right people, and we will continue to engage in these elections for the betterment of our town and state.

Starting today, Tennessee firefighters and EMS providers have stronger legal protections.

Thanks to the work of the members of Tennessee Professional Fire Fighters Association and the support of Senator Paul Bailey, Kip Capley and the lawmakers who stood with us, HB2428 is now in effect.

This new law makes assaults against firefighters and EMS providers a Class E Felony, bringing the penalties in line with assaults against law enforcement officers.

Every day, firefighters and EMS personnel answer the call without knowing what they will face. No one should be assaulted while protecting their community.

This is more than a new law, it’s a statement that Tennessee values and protects those who serve.

Thank you to every firefighter who advocated for this legislation, and to the legislators who helped make it a reality.
