Celebrating Employment Success!

One of our SPARC CST and Sanctuary House IPS clients is celebrating 90 days of employment. This client was previous in an ALF and transitioned to the community where they are now living independently and working.

Reaching 90+ days of employment is an incredible accomplishment and a milestone worth celebrating! This achievement reflects the dedication, perseverance, and hard work of the individual, along with the ongoing support of the teams at SPARC CST and Sanctuary House.

We’re proud to be part of a partnership that helps create opportunities for meaningful employment, independence, and success. 💙💚

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month
Domestic violence doesn’t always look the way we expect it to.

It can be physical, emotional, verbal, sexual, financial, or psychological. It can involve isolation, intimidation, control, or constantly feeling like you have to “walk on eggshells.”

And sometimes, the hardest part is recognizing that what you’re experiencing is not okay.

💜 Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and supported in their relationships.

If you or someone you know may be experiencing domestic violence, you don’t have to navigate it alone. Reaching out for support can be an important first step.

This month, let’s raise awareness, believe survivors, and remind one another that help is available, safety matters, and you are not alone.

SPARC is in Savannah, Georgia this week for the National Behavioral Consortium Conference! 🌳

We're glad to be connecting with behavioral health leaders from across the country to share ideas, learn from one another, and explore new ways to strengthen care for the children, families, and adults we serve.

Conferences like this remind us that the best solutions come from collaboration. We're looking forward to bringing new insights and partnerships home to our teams in North Carolina, Arkansas, Virginia, and Ohio.

Proud moment for SPARC! 🎤

Please join us in celebrating Layla Hicks, our MORES Supervisor, who is presenting on SPARC's MORES program at the annual North Carolina Crisis Summit!

Layla is sharing how our MORES team shows up for children and families in moments of crisis, meeting them where they are and helping them find stability. Her leadership, expertise, and dedication to this work make her the perfect person to share our story with crisis professionals from across the state.

At SPARC, we believe employment is about more than a paycheck. Employment can provide purpose, connection, confidence, independence, financial stability, a greater sense of belonging in the community, and improved mental health symptoms.

Through our partnership with Trillium Health Resources’ Partnership for Work and Wellness our Greensboro Community Support Team has been working with Sanctuary House’s IPS program to support individuals in achieving their employment goals.

Together, we are helping create pathways to opportunity, independence, and brighter futures. We are proud to celebrate the 6 individuals pursuing their goals and the partnerships that help make those goals possible. 💙💚

Molly, SPARC's ACT Team Lead, has been approved as an advisor for the NC ACT Coalition. This is a well-deserved recognition of her leadership and her commitment to Assertive Community Treatment across North Carolina.

Molly brings a deep passion for supporting adults in the community, along with clinical expertise and hands-on knowledge of building and leading an ACT team from Day 1. Her insight into employee retention, ACT qualifications, and the day-to-day realities of delivering high-quality community-based care will be an incredible asset to the Coalition and to the people ACT teams serve statewide.

🎉 Big news from SPARC! We're proud to announce the opening of our new office in Batesville, Arkansas!

This new location allows us to bring Family Centered Treatment (FCT) directly to families in Independence, Jackson, Cleburne, Stone, Sharp, and White counties — meeting them where they are with the support and stability they deserve.

At SPARC, we believe every family has the strength to heal and grow when given the right tools and support. Our Batesville team is ready to walk alongside families across this region on that journey.

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM)!

At SPARC, we believe that meaningful employment is about more than having a job, it can be an important part of building independence, confidence, connection, and a sense of purpose.

NDEAM gives us an opportunity to recognize the skills, talents, contributions, and value that people with disabilities bring to the workplace and to continue promoting workplaces where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.

Meaningful employment can give clients a sense of purpose, build confidence and independence, create opportunities for connection, and empower them to pursue their goals and contribute to their communities.

Everyone deserves the opportunity to discover their strengths, pursue their goals, and contribute their talents. 💙

One year. 46 referrals. 107 Burke County residents served. 💙💚

We're so proud of our SPARC FCT-R (Family Centered Treatment – Recovery) team in Burke County, NC, and grateful to The Paper for highlighting their first year of partnership with the Burke County Opioid Advisory Committee.

Since receiving our first FCT-R referral in October 2025, this team has shown up for families in their homes, week after week, to support the whole family on the path to recovery. Our practitioners complete 14 recovery-focused training modules on top of the 18 required for FCT certification, and it shows in the results:

✅ 85% of the random weekly drug screens administered in 2026 have come back negative
✅ 12 families have successfully completed the program
✅ Families referred to a higher level of care have chosen to come back to FCT-R when they were ready

Numbers only tell part of the story. Sometimes engagement starts with meeting a family exactly where they are, even if that means showing up with a case of soda. That's the heart of this work: patience, persistence, and whatever it takes to earn a family's trust.

Thank you to Faren Tillery, Shanda Woody, and our entire FCT-R team for the lives you're changing. And thank you to Burke County for continuing to invest in families and recovery. 🙏

Our Burke County, NC FCT team traded caseloads for buzzers today at their Game Show Day team builder! From friendly competition to plenty of laughs, it was a great chance for the team to recharge, connect, and celebrate one another.

The work our Family Centered Treatment practitioners do with families every day takes heart, dedication, and teamwork. Days like this remind us how much stronger we are together, and that a little fun goes a long way. 🏆
