UPDATE 1/23/26 - We now have at least one candidate running for the Secretary position. See bio in comments.

Thank you to the outgoing DINA Board of Directors for all of their efforts to serve the Daniel Island community in 2024 and 2025. As previously announced, none of the elected Board Member-Officers are running for a second term.

Candidate nominations were solicited in Q4 2025, having received none, the Board continued to work to identify candidates to fill the 2026-2027 Board Member-Officer positions. We are pleased to share that we now have candidates for President, Vice President and Treasurer. There are no candidates for Secretary, write-in nominations are being accepted. If Board-Member Secretary nominations are received, in-person voting will take place at the February Membership Meeting to fill this position.

Once elected, the new board officers term will begin immediately. The immediate past-President and officers will continue to work with and support the new board for a smooth transition.

As stated in the By-Laws, the membership will elect four officers (President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer). All officers must reside within the geographical boundary, as defined in Article II, for the entire period they hold office. The areas of the Daniel Island Neighborhood Association shall be bounded on the north by Beresford Creek, on the south by the Charleston Harbor, on the east by the Wando River, and on the west by the Cooper River.

Officers will be elected every two years. The Board of Directors will consist of the 4 officers and the immediate past President. Other officers may, from time-to-time, be appointed by the Board of Directors.

An electronic ballot will be emailed to all DINA Members. Online voting begins at 8:00 AM Monday, January 26, 2026 and ends at 8:00 PM Wednesday, January 28, 2026. Only DINA Members may vote.

Meet the Candidates…

MARK YOUR CALENDARS for FEB 17, TUE, 7-8pm, Church of the Holy Spirit Parish Hall. A fantastical story around a LOCAL history of WW1 that many have never known. Free. Children are welcome!

They are perhaps one of the most successful military groups in World War I, but many people in the United States have never heard of them. And several of those called to serve were from right here on Daniel Island and the Cainhoy Peninsula. Who were the men of the 371st “Colored” Infantry? Why w

Berkeley County is having a public preview to their second Preservation and Greenbelt acquisition, Blessing Plantation. It's been in private hands, forever, until escrow closed last week. Come see it for the first time, ever, this Saturday.

🎉You're Invited! 🎉

Get a sneak peek of our future public park! Come tour the historic Blessing Plantation, located at 101 Blessing Lane in Huger, on Saturday, November 22, from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.

*An official welcome will be at 10:30 a.m.*

The nearly 630-acre property will ultimately become a new county park — offering long-desired public access to fishing, kayaking, and a one-of-a-kind public experience on a former colonial rice plantation. The project is being funded, in part, by the Berkeley County Greenbelt Program.
