🌟 Fall GAL Volunteer Appreciation Event 🌟

This past week, GAL Friends hosted an appreciation event to celebrate all our amazing Guardians ad Litem (GALs) in Orange and Chatham Counties! 💙

We are so grateful of our GAL volunteers. Your dedication, compassion, and hard work make a lasting difference in the lives of children every day.

A big thank you to everyone who helped make this event special. From the beautiful baskets and delicious food to the warm and joyful atmosphere.

A huge shoutout to Brenda and Mike Leeper for generously sharing their gorgeous venue, Chapel Hill Carriage House, with us 🫶, and to Jim for filling the evening with incredible music. Your talent truly set the perfect tone! 🎶

💫 What is a GAL?
A GAL is a trusted volunteer appointed by the court to advocate for the best interest of abused/neglected children. In court, GALs serve as a vital voice for these children. They ensure the children are heard, supported, and protected.

💛 What is GAL Friends?
GAL Friends supports GAL program by funding volunteer training, retention efforts, and special request to help children thrive. We help cover cost for things like school uniforms, tutoring, camps, and activities. Giving every child the chance to enjoy a normal, enriching childhood.

Hello everyone! 👋 Help us advocate for the children of Orange and Chatham counties. We are the GAL Friends of Orange and Chatham County. 🤩
The Guardian ad Litem (GAL) program is an organization of volunteers trained to conduct thorough investigations on behalf of children and make informed recommendations to the court. GALs play an important role in the child's life; volunteers provide judges with much-needed information about the child.

So who are we? 🤔
GAL Friends supports Orange and Chatham County GAL program by providing funding to help train and retain GAL volunteers. We try to accommodate reasonable requests made by volunteers to cover costs such as uniforms/school supplies 🏫, camps, classes, tutoring📚 and anything their assigned child may need to have the most normal and enriching childhood experience possible. 💸😇
