What a fun semester!! 🥳 LET’S RECAP:

Exec attended Marbles Sensory Friendly Playtime and BEaM Makerfest where we demoed toys!! 🎮

Joe led the BEaM 3D Printing Workshop where members made old wells. We also printed personalized keychains for students in NC State’s CATALYST program! 🤖

We collabed with .unc to decorate donation boxes and make letters for the kids!! 🎁

Most of all, members worked hard at modifying so many new toys this semester!!

Last but not least, meet Davis!! 🦾🤖 He is co-president of CATCH this year alongside Aditi! Here are some of Davis’s responsibilities as club president:

“As co-president, I primarily work with Aditi to make sure all aspects of the club run smoothly. We work together to grow and strengthen our community partnerships, look for new technical innovation for our toys, and make sure all toys we donate hit quality standards!”

Meet Aditi!! 🦾🤖 She is co-president of CATCH this year alongside Davis! Here are some of Aditi’s goals as club president:

“My role this year is to work together with all of exec to keep CATCH running! This year, our main goal is to make CATCH as efficient as possible while still making sure all our members are learning something new and enjoying the time they spend with us. I also want to be more communicative and open with our members about where all our toys are going, and open up more opportunities to be involved with community events and donations :) So excited to see what we do this year!”

Meet Isabella (me)‼️ I am the marketing lead this year for CATCH, and am so excited to be a part of the team. 🙌

My role involves highlighting CATCH through social media, promoting club publicity events, and planning fun club collaborations. I support the rest of exec at club meetings, but I work most closely with our co-presidents, Davis and Aditi. I plan to spotlight weekly meetings and share on social media the impact toy modifications make on people’s lives!

Meet James‼️ He is the treasurer of CATCH this year!!💰Here’s some words from James about his responsibilities in our club:

“I handle money! My responsibilities include managing our funds, requesting reimbursements, and applying for USG funding. Since people come to me to approve purchases, I work with most people on the team, but most closely with our co-presidents, Davis and Aditi. Outside of my role, I am looking to kickstart a CADing course for members who may be interested in learning, so stay tuned!”

Meet Chris‼️ He is one of our amazing technical officers! Here’s some words from Chris about his part in our club:

“As a Technical Officer in CATCH, the role involves training new members, helping out during meetings, and working on modifying toys to make them accessible. The position is shared with Joseph, and the technical team works together on toy guides, new projects, and supporting the rest of the club. The main goal for the year is to make training and projects simpler and more inclusive, and the most exciting part is seeing members learn new skills and build things that make a real impact.”

Meet Meira!! Meira is one of our awesome quality officers‼️🕹️🛠️ Here’s what she has to say about her role within CATCH:

“I’m one of the quality officers, along with Cam! We make sure that every toy modified is fully operational before they get sent off to the kids. This year, I hope to help foster a collaborative environment in the club through partnered toy modification. I am most excited to experience our first semester in the BEAM Makerspace!”
