Illini Service Dogs Mobilizing the world, four paws at a time. [email protected] It all started with a girl, a dog, and a dream! Donations are greatly appreciated!

The Illini Service Dogs is a 501(c)3 Nonprofit Organization as well as a Registered Student Organization at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. We are the first program that allows college students to train service dogs from puppy hood to placement. We provide our service dogs to people with physical disabilities free of charge! Students are provided the opportunity to foster and train

a service dog for a person with a disability. The students take the dogs to classes, sporting events, and on buses. The dogs learn to turn on lights, open doors, pick up objects, and much more! By the time the dogs graduate from our program, they know over 40 commands! Students have the enriching experience of training a dog for a person with a disability while gaining knowledge of disability culture and disability rights. The Illini Service Dogs is an independent organization with no connections or affiliations to any other service dog group or organization. ISD is kicking off summer in the best way - with a puppy 🐾 Meet Ferris! Ferris’ name was voted on by volunteers in our organization, inspired by the ferris wheel that debuted at the World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago in 1893 and referencing the movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off which also takes place in Chicago 🎡 We can’t wait to see what amazing things Ferris has in store for him! This week is National Volunteers Week ❤️ Illini Service Dogs is completely volunteer run. Without our amazing volunteers, we would not be able to train and place our service dogs completely free of cost.
