Texas High School Rodeo Association Preserving our western heritage through the sport of rodeo, and providing scholarships. Texas High School Rodeo began in 1947 in Hallettsville, TX.

Today, there are over 100 rodeos that take place across Texas. Texas is broken into 10 different geographical region so that high school athletes can find a place to compete near them. The year ends with the Texas State High School Finals Rodeo in June.

Today, we remember a great Texas cowboy and rodeo legend, Phil Lyne.
A five-time World Champion and one of the most versatile all-around cowboys in rodeo history, Phil left an unforgettable mark on the sport we love.
His legacy lives on through his family, especially his grandchildren, and through the generations of Texas cowboys and cowgirls he inspired.
The THSRA extends our deepest condolences to the Lyne family. We honor his life, his legacy, and the impact he made on Texas rodeo.
Rest in peace, Phil. Your legacy will ride on.

Nationals was a great week for Team Texas! Drew Ellen Stewart put together an outstanding performance from start to finish to earn the title of Reserve World Champion Goat Tyer at the NHSRA Finals!

Some people never miss a moment... and that’s Robert Till. ❤️
From the first performance to the last at both the NJSRA and NHSRA Finals, Robert was there. Camera in hand, cheering at the top of his lungs, and supporting every Team Texas contestant like they were his own.
Beyond the videos and the encouragement, Robert’s unwavering faith shines through everything he does as he leads Crossroads Rodeo Ministry. We are incredibly blessed to have someone who pours so much into our students, our sport, and our rodeo family.
Thank you, Robert, for showing up, lifting others up, and reminding us what servant leadership looks like. Team Texas loves you!
