It’s the time of year that we celebrate the season of giving. Many are struggling to find just the right gift for their loved ones (who have everything) or would like to give a gift in memory of their loved ones who are now living in Heaven. Shelby County Outreach Ministries is a wonderful place to give. With each monetary gift, a star is placed on our front windows to celebrate and remember your loved ones.

We have seen such an increase in need in our community this year. People are struggling to pay bills, buy medicine, or purchase food for their families. Most of the senior citizens we serve are surviving on $600 or less monthly. Your monetary gift would be the gift that keeps on giving and would allow your friends and family to share love in their name. Please remember that the best gift given to us all was Jesus Christ. He is the real reason for the season.

There are several ways to give monetary gifts to help those in need. You can donate through our website using PayPal. Just go to shelbycountyoutreach.org and click donate. You can always stop by our office and give your gift directly and see firsthand what we do to help the less fortunate. If you would like to send your monetary gift through the mail, you can send it to PO Box 1029 Center, TX 75935.

Give your child a personalized letter from Santa this year! Shelby County Outreach Ministries is having our annual Letter From Santa fundraiser. For only $10, your child will receive a letter from Santa with their name on it and a Christmas Tree ornament to remind them of the real reason for the season. All forms and money need to be turned in by Monday, December 11th. All proceeds will go toward feeding the hungry and assisting the needy in Shelby County. Shelby County Outreach Ministries has Raffle tickets for sale! We are doing our annual ATV Raffle to raise money to help feed the hungry and assist the needy in Shelby County. A Kawasaki Mule 4x4 will be raffled off on Saturday, October 7th, which is the last day of the East Texas Poultry Festival. Tickets are $20 each or 6 tickets for $100. The winner is responsible for tax, title, and transfer. You can come to any of our locations to purchase tickets. Shelby County Outreach Ministries would like to say thank you to all that supported Praise 2023. It was a tremendous success. It was a night full of food, fellowship, singing, auctions, and fun! All proceeds made from Praise 2023 will go back into the community so we can continue to help feed the hungry and assist the needy in Shelby County. We thank the Civic Center and Mr. Tommy Hughes for working with us on this event.

Praise 2023 is almost here! February 11th at 5:30! It will be held at the John D. Windham Civic Center. We will have live singing, door prizes, refreshments, silent auctions, and a live auction! Mr. Chris Watlington will be the auctioneer for the evening. There is limited seating, so please come by Shelby County Outreach Ministries to purchase your tickets today! Tickets are $10 each. Each ticket purchased will be entered for a door prize at the end of the night. All proceeds will go towards feeding the hungry and assisting the needy in Shelby County. 2022 is almost over and Shelby County Outreach Ministries would like to thank everyone for their support. We are seeing more people in need and would like to ask you to consider us when you are making your end-of-the-year contributions. Because of partners like you, people have not gone to bed hungry and have had their emergency needs met through our client assistance program. Our organization helps the people of Shelby County with several emergency needs such as food, clothing utility assistance, emergency shelter, and more. We are a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization. Shelby County Outreach Ministries is looking to hire a bookkeeper. This person needs to have experience with QuickBooks and must have great organizational skills. Duties include but are not limited to payroll, bills, taking donations, filing, record keeping, and other related jobs. Please submit a resume by November 17th, 2022.
