Every Blossom journey is unique, but each is connected by a shared thread: a community where people are seen, supported, and empowered to thrive. When our family moved to Cedarburg in 2021, we were searching for something we weren't sure existed: a place where our daughter, Vivian, and our son, Tommy, would be seen for who they are, not defined by their disabilities. As parents and guardians, we often found ourselves wondering, "What's next?" While we were hopeful after meeting the Blossom team, we also knew from experience that meaningful opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities can be hard to find.
Blossom didn't let us get lost in the shuffle. They welcomed our family, connected us with other parents, helped us navigate the future, and, most importantly, saw Vivian's potential long before there was a program designed specifically for her.
Today, the difference is remarkable. Vivian has found friendships, volunteers in the community, participates in classes and trips, performs with Pink Umbrella Theater, plays pickleball, and continues to grow in confidence with every new experience.
Watching her be included, encouraged, and genuinely welcomed has been one of the greatest gifts our family has received. Blossom didn't just create programs for Vivian. They created a community where she belongs. And for families like ours, knowing we're no longer walking this journey alone is a gift beyond words.
