They breed Vizslas to be future working detection K-9s and Jayme Stephens, based in Mississippi is a Veteran and K9 trainer that makes gorgeous collars and leashes for dogs. With years of experience working with dogs, Nicky, Kim and Jayme bring so much to the table with their knowledge and compassion for helping all dogs and giving them the best second chance. We have a group of dedicated volunteers ready to help. The main focus of our rescue will be helping the dogs that many of the purebred clubs can’t, mixed Vizsla breeds and always supporting our Viz Whizz members. MEET KING ARTHUR, a special little pup looking for his forever home. 👑

Meet King Arthur, a very special little Vizsla puppy with a big personality and a whole lot of love to give! He is missing some digits on his hind paws, making him a little different, but that certainly doesn’t stop him from enjoying life!

At just six weeks old, a wonderful family welcomed Arthur into their home and has been fostering him ever since. They’ve given him love, care, and a safe place to grow while helping him prepare for his forever home.

Arthur is a playful, energetic puppy who enjoys playing ball, spending time with other dogs, going for car rides, and getting lots of attention. He’s even comfortable with baths and having his nails trimmed!

Arthur is still a very young puppy with so much to learn, and he will need an experienced, patient owner who has the time and commitment to help him grow into a happy, well-adjusted dog. We are not considering first-time dog owners or families with young children.

Ideally, we’re looking for someone familiar with Vizslas who understands their energy, intelligence, and sensitivity and can provide consistent structure, socialization, and positive reinforcement training. Arthur needs someone willing to invest the time, patience, and love to help him build confidence and thrive.

Sometimes, the stars just align! ⭐️
LUCY HAS FOUND HER FOREVER HOME! Today was one of those days when everything just fell perfectly into place.

Lucy’s new family lives right here in Austin, and she now has a pack of her very own! Best of all, she has Shiner, who loves nothing more than running, chasing and playing, everything Lucy could have wished for in a best friend!

When her new family came over today, Lucy didn’t shy away. She showed off her best self running and playing with Robin and giving kisses. It was an easy yes.
When you know, you know. ❤️

As much as I’ll miss my little shadow, seeing her so happy made saying goodbye that much easier. She came into my life when she needed someone, and today she left for the life she so deserves.

Happy tails, sweet Lucy! Go live your very best life. I’m looking forward to following your adventures. You’ve certainly stolen a little piece of my heart. ❤️🐾

Meet Rocky 📍Spring, Texas - intact.
Sweet Rocky is one of the 12 breeding dogs recently surrendered into our care and estimated to be around 11-12 years old. Rocky is finally getting the chance to experience the comforts of a loving inside home, and he’s settling in beautifully!

Rocky is an incredibly sweet, gentle, people-loving boy who just wants to be close to his humans. He’s already figured out the doggie door, loves exploring the yard, enjoys his toys, and sleeps peacefully through the night in his crate.

He’s currently sharing his foster home with other dogs. While he’s happy to be around them, he’s still learning to trust and appreciates having his own space. We think he’d be perfectly happy with another calm, older Vizsla or as someone’s one and only companion.

Now for the medical update…
Rocky has cataracts, some arthritis, dental issues, and a few growths that need attention. We’re waiting on his bloodwork before moving forward with any care.

But here’s some WONDERFUL news…
🎉 ROCKY IS HEARTWORM NEGATIVE! 🎉
After everything these dogs have been through, that is something worth celebrating!

Rocky doesn’t need much. He’s not a high-energy boy looking for endless adventures. He just wants a soft bed, a little garden to sniff around, someone to love, and a peaceful place to spend his golden years.

🏡 ROCKY NEEDS A HOME!
His wonderful foster stepped up when we urgently needed to get these dogs to safety. However, she can only foster him temporarily, and we’re hoping to find Rocky a longer-term foster or, even better, his forever family before October 29.

After spending so many years as a breeding dog, Rocky deserves to spend the rest of his life being someone’s beloved companion.

Lincoln is a beautiful and petite red Doberman mix who is deeply devoted to her people and loves children. She is active, intelligent, playful and naturally protective. Lincoln is a fast runner and loves to play in water. She is velvety soft with shiny fur that is low shed. She naturally smells good and is water resistant. She dries off with a quick shake. In addition to her outside adventures, she thrives at weekly doggie daycare and currently lives with another dog.

Lincoln is seeking an active person or family where she can be the only dog in her home while still enjoying appropriate socialization with other dogs outside the home. Her protective and alert nature can show up as guarding against other dogs in specific circumstances. Her behavior has been limited to noisy scuffles. She has never bitten and does not guard against people.

Her current family can provide details and is confident Lincoln will have no stressors leading to guarding behavior if she is the only pet in the home.

And this gal is well trained! Her trainer will redo her send home lesson with the adopters at no charge.

Another happy ending that makes everything we do worthwhile!

Maple’s wonderful new family drove all the way from New Mexico to meet her today, and we honestly couldn’t have wished for a better fit! Even better, Maple now has a beautiful Vizsla sister named Maggie to share her adventures, snuggles, and new life with!

To everyone who applied for Maple, thank you so much for opening your hearts to her. Please forgive me if I haven’t managed to respond to you personally. It’s been an incredibly busy few weeks here at the rescue, and I’m doing my best to keep up with everything!

THE KENNELS ARE EMPTY. ALL 12 DOGS ARE SAFE. Today was bittersweet. After a very long, emotional week, the last of the 12 Vizslas left the kennels in Longview, Tx.

As many have shared with us, Ray Cooper and his wife have been struggling with health issues for sometime now, and the dogs were no longer getting the care they needed. Ray loved his dogs. His dogs had never ended up in rescue before, and we know this couldn’t have been an easy decision for him. Sometimes life changes in ways we never expect, and loving your dogs also means recognizing when you can no longer give them what they need. Ray trusted us to help, and he can now find peace knowing that every single one of his dogs is safe and being cared for.

To Stuart Russell, our incredible boots on the ground, we cannot thank you enough for the love and dedication to the dogs. You’ve given so much of yourself to these dogs this week, while still dealing with your own farm. We couldn’t have done it without you.

To Don, Karen and LaVonne, thank you for driving those miles. And to our wonderful fosters Deb, Lorraine, Melissa and LaVonne, thank you for opening your hearts and homes.

While the kennels are empty, our work is far from over. Early indications suggest that many, possibly all, of these dogs are heartworm positive. The veterinary bills are mounting, and some of these sweet souls are still in temporary foster homes.

We still need more fosters and donations. Veterinary care is underway, and soon we’ll begin accepting applications for their forever homes.

Tonight, instead of sleeping in outdoor kennels, these dogs have soft beds, warm homes and people who care about them.

12 dogs. 12 second chances. A community that refused to let them down. It’s been exhausting and emotional but seeing those empty kennels today made every minute worthwhile.

If you’re looking for a Vizsla who thinks you hung the moon and stars, Fergus might just be your boy! This handsome, happy-go-lucky sweetheart is the definition of a Velcro Vizsla. He loves his people, enjoys snuggling, playing ball, going for walks and car rides, and simply being part of everything you do.

Fergus needs a home without young children. He previously nipped an 18-month-old child, leaving a small red mark without breaking the skin. He has also shown some resource-guarding behaviors, so we’re looking for an experienced, understanding home willing to continue working with him.

He has so much love to give and deserves a home where he can feel secure, thrive and be someone’s very best friend. At just two years old, Fergus has his whole life ahead of him.
