At the AFT National Convention, Texas AFT President Zeph Capo reminded us that rural schools are the heart of their communities and that rural educators face many of the same challenges seen across Texas.

Public schools are the backbone of our future in Texas. That’s why I’m proud to have the support of the Texas AFT.

But Republicans are working harder than ever to dismantle our public education system with a voucher scam that only benefits the wealthy — they’re just not being honest about it.

“Parental choice” = pro voucher scam. “Educational freedom” = anti public education. You can’t support teachers and students AND support parental choice. Don’t let them fool you with nice talking points and pretty TV ads.

Fully funding our public schools isn’t a campaign slogan for me. It’s my commitment to you.
