🎃 You’re Invited! Soaring Eagle Center’s First Annual Fall Carnival

Dear Families, Friends, and Community Members,

As the new Executive Director of Soaring Eagle Center, it is my pleasure to personally invite you to join us for our First Annual Fall Carnival!

This is more than just an evening of fun, it is an opportunity for our SEC family, families, friends, staff, volunteers, and community partners to come together, build relationships, and celebrate the incredible individuals we are privileged to serve.

Join us for an evening filled with fun, games, food, fellowship, and plenty of fall festivities! We want this inaugural event to reflect the spirit of Soaring Eagle Center: inclusion, community, connection, and creating opportunities for everyone to soar.

🚚 We Need Our Community for Truck-or-Treat!

We are looking for volunteers to participate in our Truck-or-Treat activity. If you would like to participate, decorate your vehicle, bring some treats, and help us create a fun and memorable experience for our Associates.

What an incredible way to begin North Texas Giving Day! 💚💙

Before the sun was fully up, we were already there—standing alongside so many extraordinary Texas nonprofits, all coming together for something bigger than any one organization: our community.

As Executive Director of Soaring Eagle Center, I am deeply grateful to witness the spirit of collaboration, encouragement, and generosity that makes North Texas so special. We weren't simply representing our individual missions; we were supporting one another, celebrating one another, and reminding each other why this work matters.

A heartfelt thank you to the Communities Foundation of Texas for creating such an incredible platform for nonprofits to connect with donors, share our stories, and strengthen the communities we serve. And thank you to WFAA for helping shine a powerful spotlight on the incredible work being done by nonprofits across North Texas.

Most importantly, thank you to our donors and supporters. Your generosity gives Soaring Eagle Center the opportunity to continue creating meaningful experiences, greater inclusion, community connections, and opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to thrive.

💙 LIFE SKILLS MATTER! 🦅

At the Soaring Eagle Center, we believe our associates deserve opportunities to learn, practice, and build skills that support greater independence, confidence, and success in everyday life. 🙌🏽

Our life-skills activities cover a variety of important areas, including:

🏠 Home & Household Skills – cleaning, organizing, laundry, and basic household responsibilities
🍳 Kitchen Skills – meal preparation, cooking, kitchen safety, and nutrition
💰 Money Management – budgeting, spending, saving, and understanding money
🛍️ Community Skills – shopping, ordering food, navigating the community, and making choices
🧼 Personal Care & Hygiene – grooming, hygiene, dressing, and maintaining healthy routines
⏰ Time Management – following schedules, being prepared, and completing daily tasks
🤝🏽 Social Skills – communication, teamwork, making choices, and building relationships
🧠 Problem-Solving & Decision-Making – learning how to make choices and work through everyday situations
🚦 Safety Skills – understanding personal, community, and emergency safety
🎯 Self-Advocacy & Independence – expressing needs, making choices, setting goals, and speaking up for themselves

Every lesson, activity, and hands-on experience is another opportunity to say: “I can do it!” 💪🏽✨
