We’re hiring in Jackson County!

IVCanDO is seeking a Project Assistant to help local families make their homes more comfortable, safe, and energy efficient as we expand our Energy & Infrastructure programs.

You’ll work directly with homeowners, conduct home assessments, coordinate with contractors, and help guide projects from the first conversation through completion.

We’re looking for a Jackson County resident with strong organizational skills, clear communication, and a commitment to serving their community. Experience with home visits, contractors, or energy efficiency is a plus. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are encouraged!

Jackson County, Oregon, with remote and field work plus approximately monthly visits to our Cave Junction office

Full-time, 32–40 hours per week

Starting pay: $22–$25 per hour, depending on experience

Flexible schedule, paid holidays, accrued vacation, health benefits available, and professional development opportunities

NEED SEPTIC WORK DONE?
Keeping your septic system maintained is an important part of caring for your home, but the cost of necessary septic services can sometimes be difficult to manage.
The Thriving Communities Grant and IVCanDO may be able to help qualifying low-income households in the Illinois Valley with septic system repair and maintenance services.
Eligible projects may include:
Septic tank pumping
Septic system inspections
Small repairs that do not require ground disturbance

Jackson County small business owners — this opportunity is specifically for you.
If your business was impacted directly or indirectly by the 2020 Almeda or South Obenchain fires, the PIER Revolving Loan Program may be able to help.
IVCanDO’s PIER program provides 500–50,000 in financing at a 5% interest rate to eligible Jackson County businesses that still have unmet financial needs, are experiencing economic hardship, or are serving an urgent community need.
Funds can help businesses rebuild, recover, and move forward — and there are no early repayment penalties.

IVCanDO (Illinois Valley Community Development Organization) is proud to support the upcoming Cave Junction mayoral and city council candidates debate, helping encourage community engagement and informed local decision-making. Local elections play an important role in shaping the future of our community, and providing residents with opportunities to hear directly from candidates is an important step toward building a stronger Illinois Valley.

Community members are invited to welcome the candidates for Cave Junction mayor and city council to a public debate addressing the biggest issues facing the city.
The event will take place on Wednesday, October 14, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in the Illinois Valley Library’s new meeting room, located at 209 West Palmer Street in Cave Junction.

Attendees are encouraged to bring questions for submission, and some may be selected to be asked during the debate.
The debate will be moderated by Forrest Roth of the Illinois Valley News and Lindsey B. Jones of the Illinois Valley Community Development Organization.

For those unable to attend in person, the debate will be streamed live on Facebook, and a Zoom link will also be available.

IVCanDO is pleased to help support efforts that bring residents together, strengthen civic participation, and encourage a more informed and connected community. This event offers an opportunity to learn about the candidates, hear their perspectives on local issues, and engage in conversations about the future of Cave Junction.
