At age three, most typically-developing children will be:
-Talking with you in conversation using at least two back-and-forth exchanges
- Asking “who,” “what,” “where,” or “why” questions, like “Where is mommy/daddy?”
- Saying what action is happening in a picture or book when asked, like “running,” “eating,” or “playing”
- Telling you their first name, when asked
- Talking well enough for others to understand, about 75% of the time

Can your three year old do these things? If not, no cause for alarm yet, but one of the best things you could do to support their language development would be to enroll them in a quality preschool program... say for example, All Around Kids Community Preschool!
We have openings for the coming school year! You will be amazed how quickly your child's vocabulary grows (and how much easier they are to understand) when they are around a group of other children in their age range.
