Would like to thank everyone for coming out and supporting Darin’s Legacy this weekend! We had a lot of fun this weekend in conjunction with Carthage Straw Bale Days! We had a float in the parade, 29 teams for beanbags, and quite a few kids took part in the kids bingo! Congratulations to Jim and Shawn for winning the bean bags. Karsten and Ryder got second and third place went to Briggs and Kaden! Congratulations to Jeremy for winning the rangefinder. I forgot to get a name for the 50/50 raffle winner but congratulations anyway.
Thank you to Kris and Nick for your help running the bean bag tournament and providing the music and fun atmosphere. Thank you to the museum for allowing us to host these events and letting us use their tent, tables, and chairs for the kids bingo. Thank you to the businesses and individuals that donated prizes. Last but not least a huge thank you to our family and friends that help us year after year in helping make our events a success. Your support and help mean the world to all of us! Thank you!

Here are some of the many prizes that will be available for the kids bingo! There are more prizes as well, and if anyone would like to donate additional prizes we would love to have them! The bingo for the kids will be free will donation. Parents come join us for beanbags and let us entertain your kids with bingo. We hope to see you all Saturday afternoon. Beanbag sign up at 4 with both bingo and beanbags starting at 4:30.

Darin‘s Legacy will be having its annual fundraiser in conjunction with the Carthage Straw Bale Days. We will be hosting the beanbag tournament on August 2 with a 4 o’clock sign up and the bags fly at 4:30.

New this year we will also be providing bingo for kids with some awesome prizes: time- 4:30.

Both events will be held Carthage Main St., Museum grounds area.

We would like to thank everyone that helped make our annual fundraiser a success! We had a great turnout for the 5K color run/walk. We had 68 adults and kids registered for the 5k although a few of them were unable to attend because of various reasons. I believe we still had almost 50 runners finish the race even with the rainy morning. Logan Hattervig, Ricko Krynauw, Travis Bornitz, Cody Po**en, and Raygan Sherman (first child to finish) were the top 5 to finish the run. We were able to raise $850 to donate to the Howard softball group!
Thank you to Logan Hattervig for bringing the portable disc golf basket and answering people’s questions about disc golf!
Thank you to everyone who donated, purchased raffle tickets, and helped us sell tickets in advance especially Jonathan Bornitz. He was quite the salesman for us! Thank you to the following businesses that donated funds that we used on the raffle prizes: Artesian Seed(Bob Schmit), Prairie Ag(Carthage Farmers Elevator), Midstate Agronomy, FirstLine Funding Group, Howard Auto Clinic, Dean Edward’s and Associates, and Artesian Vet Clinic. Amanda Austerman was the lucky winner of our first prize of the R***r 204 rifle. Mark Zwinger won the second prize of $200. Royce Bornitz was the lucky winner of the 50/50 drawing. Congratulations to Amanda, Mark, and Royce!

We are excited to say that we have the young man that was going to instruct and answer any questions you may have about disc golf still coming. He was able to find a portable disc golf basket to bring. It’s not the outcome we were hoping for to be able to use the new course but we are happy he was able to come through for us with this. Hey everyone! Just wanted to let you all know we are still planning on hosting the 4th annual Darin’s Legacy event tomorrow. We however are moving the location. The city park is currently closed due to flooding, so we will be hosting everything from the auditorium on Main Street. Please register there for the 5k in the morning and the bean bag tournament will be there as well in the afternoon. We unfortunately will not be able to try out the new frisbee disc golf course. We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow, but please don’t take any unnecessary risks due to the flooding.

The disc golf baskets are installed!!! So as long as the weather cooperates come on down to the Carthage city park on Saturday June 22nd and join us in the fun! We have someone coming that day that knows about the sport and is willing to answer your questions. We have a nice variety of discs for sale as well. We will start the morning with a 5k color run and after that we will play some frisbee golf. Then we will have our bean bag tournament in the afternoon. Come for any of the events or even better come for them all! We would love to see you all there this Saturday. If you can’t make it but would like to donate or purchase raffle tickets you can reach out to any of us and we will get you set up. Thanks again and hope to see you Saturday!

Happy Father’s Day! We spent the afternoon working on the disc golf course at the city park. We were able to cement the posts for the baskets in today. Once they are set we will be able to put the baskets on. We will have some discs available for sale on Saturday. We can’t wait to see you all on the 22nd!

Please join us June 22nd for a fun filled day! We will start out in the morning with a fun 5k color run/walk. We will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Howard softball group! We sure could use some more registrations. We had over 60 participants last year. We got a ways to go to match that but there is still time. Please share and pass it along to your friends. Need to register by June 12th to get a t-shirt with your registration.

Our latest project of putting in a disk golf course at the park will hopefully be completed by that day! The baskets finally showed up. Now we just need to make the time to get them installed. We also have some disks ordered that will be for sale that day if you would like to play.

Lastly we will have our bean bag tournament. It will also be at the city park! If for some reason the weather doesn’t cooperate we have the auditorium reserved as a back up. We would love to have you join for any of the events or better yet stay for the day! If you can’t make it but would like to donate or buy some raffle tickets please don’t hesitate to reach out to us and we will figure something out. Thank you and we hope to see you on the 22nd.
