We can't wait to see your smiling faces back at NCES tomorrow! Plan ahead tonight, get plenty of rest and be sure to grab a healthy breakfast at school in the morning. 💙

We will be here ready to welcome our NCES Family for the 26-27 school year! 🥳

Last night, NCES hosted our annual Back-To- School Readifest for 2026-2027! 🥳

We were joined by nearly 1,400 students and family members - 19 outstanding community partners and our wonderful NC Board members.

Students visited classrooms to meet their new teachers for the 26-27 school year and staff helped families complete registration tasks prior to the first day of school.

Our community partners distributed school supplies and additional resources in the NCES Gymnasium - we truly appreciate your generosity and your continued dedication to the students at Nicholas County Schools!

Very special thanks to:

👟 Our Annual STEP INTO SUCCESS – Back to School Shoe Celebration! 👟

Need a new pair of shoes for the upcoming school year? We’ve got you covered!

Join us on Monday, August 3rd, from 9:00 AM–5:00 PM at Nicholas County Elementary School (enter through the bus loop) for our Step Into Success Back to School Shoe Celebration. Shoes will be available for Nicholas County students in Pre-K through 12th grade who are in need of a new pair of shoes for the 2026–2027 school year.

✨ Bonus! This event will be held the same day as our Back to School Free Cuts event, making it easy to take care of both before school starts!

If you’re unable to attend on August 3rd, shoes will also be available during the NCMHS Open House, but we encourage families to come on August 3rd if possible to help us better serve everyone before the start of the school year.

We look forward to helping our students start the new school year with confidence!
