Philanthropy means “love of humankind” and few people have embodied that definition as wholeheartedly as Dolly Parton.

Her words, “When people are in a position to help, you should help. I try to put my money where my heart is,” reflect her lifelong commitment to turning love into action.

It has been an honor to play a role in bringing Dolly’s philanthropy to our community through initiatives like Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, inspiring a love of reading and opening a world of possibilities for children, one book at a time.

Thank you, Dolly, for putting your money where your heart is and inspiring others to do the same. We will always love you. 🩵 💚 🦋

This Tuesday, August 25th, will be the last Tuesday that the Hoop is going to be open at the Owingsville Farmers Market. Starting next week, the Hoop and Store will be open on Fridays and Saturdays only. Hoop is "8 to Sell out" on both days. Store is 9 to 1 and then 3 to 7 on Friday and 9 to 1 on Saturday.

Our Hoop generally closes either mid or end of October, depending on the weather. We will still have limited corn, tomatoes, squash, and more up until that time. You can expect that Friday under the hoop will be corn, tomatoes, squash and potatoes, with the possibility of green beans.
Saturday will be that again, plus Apple Butter, Jams and Jellies, baked goods, fresh eggs.

In the Store, we will have our usual handmade items, freeze dried fruits and vegetables, baked goods, sourdough bread, relishes and jellies, houseplants and a few other things. I will be sending out an update mid week to finalize what is going to be available.

Sharpsburg Farmers Market will be having their Customer Appreciation Day on Saturday, August 29th. Free food and drinks, games, lots of fun to be had.

Saturday, September 19th will the the FINAL day of the Sharpsburg Farmers Market until they reopen in 2027. Frazier Farms and By the Grace of God will be moving to the Owingsville Market starting September 26th with Sourdough bread, muffins wreaths and more.

Have a Wonderful, Peaceful and Progressive Week!

📢 **Change of Plans for Tonight!** 📢

The rain looks like it's going to hold off tonight, but with all the rain we've had this week, the park is still too wet for us to get the obstacle course set up in time.

Instead, join us TONIGHT at 6:00 PM at the park for a fun game of **kickball**!

The field may still be a little muddy, so wear shoes you don't mind getting dirty. A little mud just means a little more fun! We can't wait to see everyone there!

⚠️ Park Olympics Update ⚠️

Unfortunately, due to the threat of lightning and the safety of our participants, we have made the difficult decision to cancel tomorrow's Park Olympics.

We know everyone was looking forward to the fun, and we're just as disappointed. Safety always comes first, and with the forecast calling for lightning, we don't want to take any chances.

The good news is we still have two great programs coming up on August 21 and August 28, and we hope you'll join us for those. With a little luck, Mother Nature will cooperate, and we'll be able to wrap up the summer with some great memories! ☀️🌳

📣 We need your input for August 21!
Would you like to:
🏃 Revisit Kickball & Classic Playground Games, or
🚧 Stick with our originally planned Obstacle Course?

💬 Comment below and let us know which activity you'd rather participate in! We'll use your feedback to help decide next week's program.

Thank you for your understanding, and we hope to see everyone on August 21 and 28!

🌟 That’s a Wrap on Our Lunch & Learn Series! 🌟

What a wonderful week of learning, sharing, and connecting with our community! 💚

A HUGE thank you to everyone who came out and joined us for our Lunch & Learn Series this week! We had such a great lineup of programs, from getting up close with some fascinating reptiles 🐍 to learning from our local fire and rescue team 🚒, and wrapping things up with Bath County 4-H and a fun owl pellet dissection! 🦉

And, of course, we can’t forget all the delicious lunches that kept us fueled throughout the week! 🍴

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who showed up, asked questions, participated, laughed, learned, and made these programs so much fun. Events like these are truly special because of the people who come through the doors and make our community what it is.

A special thank you to all of our presenters, partners, and caterers who helped make each day possible. We couldn’t do it without you! ❤️

Here’s to learning something new, meeting new people, and making memories together. We hope you’ll join us for the next one! 📚✨

Today was SO much fun with Snake Up Your Mind! Our patrons got up close and personal with snakes, lizards, turtles, and all kinds of amazing critters! 🐍🦎🐢

We learned, explored, and maybe conquered a few fears along the way! 💚
