MKLDC Business Manager Brandon Flinn welcomed Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe, Google President and Chief Investment Officer Ruth Porat, and industry leaders to the Missouri Laborers Training School to celebrate the power of workforce development.

Guests saw firsthand how Laborers are combining hands-on training, innovative technology, and industry partnerships to prepare workers for high-demand careers.

Remarks from LIUNA VP David Frye, MO LECET Director Scott Hughes, and Training School Executive Director Josh Wright focused on the importance of maintaining a strong pipeline of skilled workers for future growth.

Union labor is building Missouri’s future.

Google’s investment in Montgomery County will create thousands of construction jobs and hundreds of long-term careers while supporting local workers, contractors, and communities across the region.

For every direct data center job created, nearly nine additional local jobs are supported across construction, maintenance, HVAC, landscaping, and the skilled trades.

With more than 2,300 laborers and apprentices set to train at the Laborers and Contractors Training Center over the next two years, Missouri workers are ready to meet the moment.
