We use no herbicide or fungicide, but occasionally we do use a few OMRI approved bio pesticides that you will find on every organic farm.

Shout out Brenda and Felicia from Lincoln University for stopping by the farm today. They do phenomenal work representing Extension services in Sikeston, Missouri. We were able to give them a tour and they left with some farm to table spinach and honey. If you've never had a tour of South Side Farms yet and would like to, just leave us a comment and we'll make it happen. Because what we do, we do for YOU!

Last year, we hosted 24 farm stands and harvested 10,000 pounds of food. Tomorrow marks our 25th stand of this year, and our team has already harvested over 16,000 pounds of fresh, healthy, nutritious food for our community!

Come be a part of history made on this farm every week. Join us tomorrow from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at 900 S. West End Blvd to celebrate this milestone and stock up on fresh food without the chemicals and synthetic pesticides!

Freshly Harvested for Stand #25:

🥬 The Greens: Napa cabbage, spinach, crisp salad mix, collard greens, mustard greens, and kale
🥕 The Roots: Carrots, beets, radishes, and sweet salad turnips
🌿 The Herbs: Fresh aromatic dill
🫑 The Peppers: Sweet peppers and hot peppers
🍯 The Sweet Stuff: Local honey bottled straight from our farm

The fields are thriving in this cool weather, and the tables will be loaded with eye-popping, jaw-dropping nutritious food. Come out, see the team, and grab your harvest for the week.

We had a fantastic time hosting Prodig Leadership Academy today. They do an excellent job educating young minds and we were delighted they chose to spend a portion of their day with us. They even tried farm fresh spinach, turnips, kale and honey and loved it.

Tomorrow marks our 24th market, matching the entire total we offered all of last year! Do you see the growth? Come out and support what this neighborhood is building.

Make some time during your morning run or your lunch break tomorrow, Wednesday, October 28th, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM to pull up to the farm at 900 S. West End Blvd. The tables are going to be loaded!!

Thank you so much to everyone who came out today! ❤️

Our Brassica Pest Management Workshop was an absolute success, and we couldn't be more grateful for our incredible community. We truly hope you left the farm today as better growers and feel more educated and confident about using Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in your own gardens!

A massive, heartfelt thank you goes out to Lincoln University, Dr. Anitha Chitturi, and her amazing IPM staff. We are so incredibly appreciative of the time, deep expertise, real-world tools, and hands-on guidance they shared with us today. We are so lucky to have partners like them helping us grow! 📋🐛

One of the highlights of the day was hearing from you all. Based on our conversations today, we talked about offering a Canning Workshop so you can learn exactly how to better preserve what you grow. Be on the lookout for that in the future! 🍅🧅

Don't forget to come see us for our 24th market of the season this Wednesday from 11a to 2p. 🧺🥕 This upcoming market officially ties the total number of markets we offered all of last year, and the best part is, we aren't even done yet!

We are just THREE days away from our on-site pest management workshop at South Side Farms! 🚨

And since "what we do, we do for you," registration is somehow still open. We have spared absolutely no expense for this event. We have officially transformed our elaborate, highly industrial farm facilities into a premier, 5-star luxury resort experience. 💅

Forget sitting on five-gallon buckets or getting dirt on your shoes—we are talking peak sophistication. We are talking fine Italian folding chairs, people. Your grab-n-go artisanal lunch—though you are heavily encouraged to focus way more on the grab-n-go part than the artisanal part—will be served right alongside the scenic, ambient aromas of real working tractors. 🍽️🚜

In between your luxury spa treatments, Lincoln University State Extension Specialist Dr. Anitha Chitturi will teach you actual, real-world techniques to stop bugs from eating your crops. We’re even doing high-end, experiential hands-on pest identification directly in the dirt.
