This weekend we are holding BALOO and IOLS Training Courses at Seven Ranges Scout Reservation May 8-9! BALOO is Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation and gives Cub Scout leaders and parents new to the outdoors methods and ideas to run an awesome camping experience. Intro to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) is a hands-on training that gives adult leaders a practical introduction to the patrol method of a Scout-led troop while building the essential outdoor skills needed to confidently lead Scouts in the outdoors.

"The April Good Turn weekend was packed! Clara and I attended along with 650 other scouts and leaders giving service to the camp as summer draws near. It was also packed with the weather from all 4 seasons in just one day...

We further packed in a 10 mile hike on Sunday morning for hiking merit badge. As we journeyed all over camp, we were able to see evidence of the improvements being made. From freshly planted trees, to brand new benches at the amphitheater, and an exterior makeover of Jones Lodge, our camp continues to improve. Thank you to all who have provided (or soon will) a good turn at camp this season. Soon we will be able review our checklist and pack for a whole week of adventure!"

If you’ve been to Seven Ranges recently for weekend camping, you may have noticed a new addition at check-in. Every group now receives a welcome bag filled with essentials to help you Be Prepared as you set up your campsite.

Each bag includes a camp map, information on Backpack to School, a new Seven Ranges brochure, toilet paper, a trash bag, and a fire starter.

It’s a small touch, but one more way we’re going above and beyond to deliver a better experience from the moment you arrive.
