People partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and purchase the homes with an affordable zero interest mortgage. T

It’s a big day for Apple and her family—Dig Day means so much. It’s the moment their future starts to take shape, and we’re so happy for them.

Apple was born and raised in Canton, and she’s worked hard for years to keep her family safe and stable. After moving between housing situations due to safety concerns, Apple and her children are ready for something different: a permanent place to call home. Now a Licensed Practical Nurse at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital, Apple brings that same steady care to everything she does, and she’s been fully committed to the Habitat program.

Breaking ground is a monumental milestone for Apple’s family. This home represents more than a new address—it’s a fresh start rooted in security, affordability, and peace, with room to grow and welcome loved ones.

Cierra recently closed on her Preserve a Home project, an important milestone that means her family can thrive in their new home. It’s an exciting step, and we’re grateful to see her family entering this new season with stability and confidence.

We’re also celebrating her son, Ja’Cier, who was recognized as Student of the Month at the end of the school year. His school honored him in a big way, including a yard sign—now proudly displayed in front of their new home.

At Habitat, we know that safe, affordable homeownership helps children succeed in school and in every area of life.

Congratulations to both Cierra and Ja’Cier on achieving these meaningful milestones.
