The Brotherhood of United Firefighters (BUFF) is proud to announce our 2026 BUFF HBCU Scholarship recipients, recognized at the Camden Education Fund’s College Signing Day.

Amaya Hamilton – Howard University, Communications/Marketing
Ja’qui Bennett – Howard University, Political Science
Jayla Marie Russell-Muse – University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Psychology

This marks our second annual scholarship announcement at this event, and we are honored to continue investing in Camden’s future leaders.

🕊️Today we laid our sister, FF Ayshia Williams, to rest. 🕊️
A hero, a sister, a servant to her community.

She gave her time, her heart, and her strength to others…even in her hardest moments.

Her service didn’t end today… it lives on through all of us.
We will continue the work. We will continue to serve.

This scholarship recognizes High School Senior who live in Camden City and plan to attend a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) and who demonstrate leadership, community involvement, and a commitment to making a positive impact.

BUFF believes in investing in the next generation of leaders and supporting Camden students as they pursue higher education.

Thank you for your service and sacrifice. We are lifting your family and the entire CFD up in prayer. 🙏🏽

Even in her sickness, she continued to serve.
Ayshia was a dedicated member of BUFF who never stopped showing up for her community. She continued to volunteer, give back, and pour into others, even while facing her own battles.

That kind of strength, love, and selflessness speaks volumes. 💔

Her legacy is one of true service, and we owe it to her to carry that forward. Let’s honor her by finding ways to give back, support one another, and show up for our community just like she did. 🙏🏽❤️
