Join poets from the Nick Virgilio Haiku Association for a haiku experience and ginko walk! A ginko walk (akin to "forest bathing") is a mindful walk in nature for the purpose of writing poetry. For our adventure, we will start with a brief introduction to the art of haiku and an introduction to writing your own poems, leading right into an exploration of the Judge's Shack at Island Beach State Park, NJ. If you arrive late, take the path to the beach and look for our group!

The Judge's Shack is one of the last fishing shacks on the East Coast, sitting on a front dune at Island Beach, a protected barrier island owned by the State of New Jersey and open to the public as a state park. Enjoy the beauty of summer at the shore while challenging your haiku and/or senryu skills. Just bring a pen, paper, some sunscreen, and your beach chair.
