was chartered on April 18, 1952 as Delta Pi Sigma at Maryland State College (now UMES). The chapter was charged to work with vim, vigor, and vitality to provide community service to the seven (7) counties of the rural Eastern Shore. The counties served are Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s, Talbot, Wicomico, and Worchester. Cambridge Alumnae having served the Eastern Shore of Maryland for n

early 7 decades, continues to operate and move with the vision created by the twenty-two undergraduate women who founded Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. on January 13, 1913 at Howard University. Happy !

Today we honor the legacy of the last enslaved African Americans in Texas who were finally informed of their freedom, some two and a half years after President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation. It was those people, and the generations of Texans who came after them, who made the bold declaration to celebrate this day, marking a reality we know far too well in this country: freedom may be delayed, but it will never be denied.

Though our fight for freedom sadly continues, today we pause to celebrate and embrace the joy of our ancestors who believed in the possibilities of a more promising tomorrow. And in that joy, we remain anchored, steadfast in our pursuit of true freedom and justice for all.

As the month comes to a close, we are looking back on the wonderful events of this year’s May Week! From the uplifting and informative virtual sessions, to the fun-filled fellowships, members of the Chapter and community enjoyed plenty of opportunities to learn, share and uplift one another.

🏇✨ What an AMAZING time the Cambridge Alumnae Sorors had celebrating with our Divine 9 family and friends at the annual NPHCES Preakness Party! ✨🏇

From the fabulous Preakness fashion and beautiful vineyard views to the music, food, fellowship, and live race excitement — the night was filled with elegance, laughter, and unforgettable memories! 🍷🎶👒

A huge thank you to NPHCES for bringing the community together for such a beautiful celebration of culture, connection, and camaraderie. The Cambridge Alumnae sorors truly enjoyed showing up and showing out alongside our fellow D9 organizations and friends!

The energy was unmatched, the outfits were stunning, and the fellowship was everything! We’re already looking forward to next year! 🐎✨❤️

💫Throwback Thursday… This spring has been a season of both change and celebration! As CAC welcomed new members, we were honored by a strong show of support from our Divine Nine sisters and brothers along the Shore. That spirit of unity remained on display as CAC members traveled to support new member presentations and chapter anniversaries, near and far. Though our current sorority year is coming to a close, we are excited to continue the work and fellowship!

The Cambridge Alumnae Chapter had an amazing time at the 10th Annual BAAM Fest last Saturday! 🎉✨

It was a wonderful day of community, culture, connection, and celebration. We were proud to represent our chapter, engage with attendees, and share information about our mission and programs. From the incredible vendors and entertainment to the positive energy throughout the event, BAAM Fest truly showcased the best of our community.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table, supported us, and helped make the day so special. We look forward to continuing our work and building even stronger connections!
