The first Father's Day service was held on July 19, 1910 — and the YMCA was right there, helping make it happen. Over a century later, we're still celebrating father figures of every kind: dads, stepdads, grandfathers, uncles, mentors, and the men who show up every day.

This Father's Day, give the gift of time together. The Y has something for every family — from swim lessons to pickleball to family fitness classes. Come make memories.

Thank you to our media partners for highlighting our work across all of our branches during Water Safety Month in May! Our team reached 600 children and families through water safety education and hands-on learning. We proudly partnered with schools, youth programs, and families to teach critical skills that can help prevent drowning and build confidence around water.

June is Alzheimer's & Brain Health Month — and we want to share something special happening right here on the Shore.

T.A.N.D.E.M. — The Alzheimer's 'n' Dementia Encouragement Mission — is an initiative created by YMCA of the Chesapeake to support individuals living with dementia and their care partners. Through movement, music, art, and social connection, TANDEM creates moments of purpose, dignity, and belonging.

And it's provided completely free of charge to our community.

TANDEM is currently at the Easton Family YMCA and Queen Anne's County Family YMCA — with exciting growth coming this summer. Stay tuned. 🌟
