We kicked off a three-part biomedical seminar series at Dorchester Career & Technology Center, in Dorchester County, MD, where Medical Services students explored how changes in brain cells affect movement. Led by neuroscientist Dr. Chenere Ramsey, in partnership with instructor Ms. Kastine Farmer, the series connects biomedical science to students’ healthcare interests. 💚

🧬✨ We are bringing STEM into the conversation about African-American history and culture!

We’re excited to launch a new seminar series with Chesapeake College’s African-American Studies Certificate Program, under the direction of Dr. LaSella Hall.

Our first seminar, “Medical Apartheid: The History of African Americans and Medical Research,” led by our Founder and Executive Director Dr. Chenere Ramsey, explored the complicated history of Black Americans and the U.S. medical research system—and why that history still matters today.

This is just the beginning of a multi-lecture series examining the intersections of STEM, history, culture, health, and society. 🔬📚

🔬🎉 Registration is NOW OPEN for "Eats & Experiments"!

Get ready for four exciting STEM experiences filled with hands-on science, family fun, and delicious refreshments!

We are thrilled to invite families throughout Cambridge, Dorchester County, and surrounding communities to our FREE "Eats & Experiments" STEM Series at the Dorchester County Public Library!
Join us as we explore the wonders of science through four exciting activities:

🟢 Make Slime & Test Strange Materials — October 8
🧪 Make Color-Changing, Foaming, & Fizzing Chemistry — October 22
🍬 Make & Test Candy & Food Experiments — November 11
🧬 Extract Real DNA & Test It With Forensic Tools — November 15

Each session will feature a different hands-on experiment led by a real scientist, Dr. Chenere Pierce Ramsey, PhD, giving children and adults an opportunity to learn, discover, and have fun together!

✅ FREE and open to the public
✅ Pre-K through 12th grade students and adults welcome
✅ All experiment materials and refreshments provided
✅ Attend one session or all four!
