Happy National Coaches Day 2026! ✨

Today, we’re celebrating the coaches who do so much more than teach youth how to play soccer. ⚽

At Soccer Without Borders, our coaches create spaces where young people can show up as themselves, build confidence, find belonging, and know that they will always find support at SWB. 🫶

From the first practice to the final whistle, our coaches are mentors, teammates, listeners, teachers, and trusted adults, helping to ensure that young people can thrive both on and off the field. 🌱

To all of our SWB coaches: thank you for showing up, believing in our participants, and creating belonging and community through the game we love. 🌟

Celebrating Peace Through Soccer in Nicaragua! ✨

Earlier this month, Fútbol Sin Fronteras Nicaragua brought the local community together for the Peace Cup (Copa de la Paz)! This event is held annually in honor of the International Day of Peace. 🕊️

This year, more than 250 players across multiple age groups took to the field, bringing energy, teamwork, and plenty of smiles to every match. While teams competed for the Peace Cup, the magic of the day was ultimately about everyone coming together through the game we all love. 💛

Thank you to the families who showed up to cheer on and support their daughters from the sidelines, and to the incredible local and guest coaches who helped make this tournament possible. ⚽

Congratulations to all of the participants for their teamwork, sportsmanship, and joy on the field! 😊

Small Goals, Big Change is back in Washington, DC on November 14! Together with District Sports, we’re bringing players from across the city together for an afternoon of soccer, community, and friendly competition.

Meet the runners putting in 26.2 miles for SWB! 🏃‍♀️💙

On November 1, Team SWB will take on the TCS New York City Marathon, running through all five boroughs in support of young people and communities across Soccer Without Borders. ⚽

They’re coming from across the U.S. and beyond, each with their own connection to soccer and their own reason for running. But they’ll take the starting line as one team, raising funds to help create more opportunities for young people to play, connect, and belong.

Uganda Girls Leagues Spotlight! 🇺🇬

This year, the Uganda Girls Leagues (UGL) served more than 400 girls, creating spaces where girls could play, build confidence, and grow as leaders. 🌱

UGL brings free, structured soccer opportunities to girls during school holidays—helping make sure that more girls have a safe and supportive place to stay active, connect with their communities, and further develop their soccer skills. ⚽

Beyond soccer, girls have opportunities to step into leadership roles as team captains and referees, all while female coaches and managers lead as supportive adults who can understand and relate to the experiences that our girls navigate both on and off the field. ✨

Both on and off the pitch, UGL is supporting girls to see themselves not only as athletes, but also as teammates, leaders, and voices in their communities. 📣

Join SWB and AFJA: Youth soccer academy in Central America on October 24 at Dignity Health Sports Park for a one-day, co-ed 7v7 tournament bringing the LA soccer community together around the global game.

Players ages 16+ will compete for the tournament title, prizes, and positivity points for good sportsmanship and fair play, all while fundraising to help expand access to free soccer programming for young people in LA and beyond.
