The Hip Hop Transformation is a new program for teens ages 14-18 offered by the Cambridge Community Center in partnership with the Cambridge Police Department. THHT teaches teens the history of hip hop, the role hip hop plays in society, and the skills needed to write, record, and perform original music. At the end of the summer participants walk away with their own finished song on the THHT Mixta

pe, to be distributed around the City of Cambridge, and the skills and connections they need to pursue their passion! THHT is a free program and is a part of the Mayor’s Summer Youth Employment Program. Congratulations to the graduates. Here’s a caption that captures the emotion, growth, and pride of the moment:

Today was one of those full circle moments.

For years, we’ve had the privilege of teaching, mentoring, and growing alongside these young people through The Hip Hop Transformation. We met many of them as 6th graders, and today we watched them walk across the stage as graduates.

Through every challenge, setback, fear, and moment of doubt, they kept pushing forward. We’ve seen their confidence grow, their voices strengthen, and their leadership emerge. The growth we’ve witnessed, both inside and outside the classroom, has been incredible.

We are beyond proud of each and every one of you. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey. Keep believing in yourselves, keep chasing your dreams, and never forget how far you’ve already come.

The future is bright. Congratulations, graduates! 🎓❤️

Meet Nevaeha King…

Full circle doesn’t even begin to cover it. She walked into our program as a middle school student just looking for an opportunity… stayed committed through high school… and now stands in front of the next generation as a staff member leading, teaching, and pouring back into the same space that helped shape her.

This is what it’s all about. Growth. Consistency. Legacy. Watching her evolve from participant to mentor is a reminder that when you invest in young people, the impact comes back tenfold.
