Film Series with Rick Winston - TONIGHT Friday, October 9 at 6:30 p.m.

What better way to celebrate autumn than a showing of Alfred Hitchcock’s delightful 1955 comedy, “The Trouble With Harry”?

It will open the Maple Corner Community Center’s Fall Film Series on Friday, October 9 at 6:30. The film, which stars John Forsythe and Shirley MacLaine in her debut, was shot partially in Craftsbury Common, and tells the story of three Vermont neighbors who each think they are responsible for the death of the mysterious Harry. Before the end of the day, Harry’s body has been buried and dug up several times. Though it flopped disastrously when it opened, over the years it has gained a reputation as one of Hitchcock’s understated masterpieces.

Rick Winston will introduce the film and lead a discussion afterwards.

Admission is $5-10 at the door.

This year is the 66th Annual Fall Foliage Festival! There will be many wonderful events taking place around Calais including the Maple Corner Community Center's Fall Foliage Festival Brunch taking place on Saturday, October 3, 2026 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at MCCC. Sweet breads, quiche, treats, tea and coffee will be served.

We need volunteers to help make this annual event a success. Please sign up to make food and/or volunteer to help at the brunch. We have two sign up sheets below, please click the links to sign up.
