When communities speak up for civics education, we know this work matters.

Messages like these remind us why the Pennsylvania Bar Association continues to advocate for civics education in our schools, helping ensure the next generation understands democracy, the Constitution, and the rule of law.

Thank you to PBA President Jim Antoniono for supporting these efforts through a visit to Eisenhower Elementary School and for helping raise awareness about the importance of civics education.

Butler County's legal community is grateful for every opportunity to serve the community we call home.

After this year's Bench Bar Conference, we were honored to share the remaining food with the residents of Colonial Gardens Guest House for Men, an assisted living home for our veterans at 121 Steppland Road, Butler. To "Crazy Kim" and your wonderful staff, your kind note reminded us how much a small gesture can mean. To the men who live there: thank you for your service to our country.

If you'd like to learn more about Colonial Gardens Guest House for Men or find ways to support its residents, call them at 724-586-5151.

Service to others is at the heart of the legal profession, and Butler County's legal community is proud to give back to our neighbors who have given so much to all of us. ❤ 🇺🇸

Bench Bar is, at its heart, a reflection of who we are as a legal community: engaged with each other, and invested in Butler County. Thank you to our local business partners: Olive & Rye, Vintage Bistro @ BC3 and Butler Coffee Lab for the delicious food and for keeping us caffeinated.

Seventy attorneys and judges gathered at the beautiful BC3 campus for standout sessions on Election Law, Oil & Gas Law, Federal Practice, (New) Judges’ View from the Bench, Succession Planning, and Mediation.

Butler County Community College calls itself "our community's college," and every year, Bench Bar proves just how true that is for our community of attorneys too. For the third year running, our attendees have supported the BC3 Pioneer Pantry Program, which provides free groceries, grab-and-go snacks, and emergency food support to hundreds of BC3 students and employees.

Huge thanks to Bar President Jordan Shuber, the BCBA Executive Committee, BC3 President Megan Coval and her exceptional team, Donna Gerson, Director of Western Pennsylvania Bar Services (PBA), and Nicole Coleman, Judicial Education Coordinator of Our Family Wizard for sponsoring our Coffee & Breakfast treat station, keeping everyone fueled throughout the day. With special thanks to Jackie Dimun, Esq., and Judy Birch for their work behind the scenes in making the day run smoothly.

Bench Bar has always been about more than CLE credit. It's one of the few times each year when our entire legal community, judges, litigators and transactional attorneys alike, whose paths rarely cross day to day, come together in one room. If you weren't able to join us this year, we hope you'll make it a priority next year!

Save the date — Bench Bar 2027 is Friday, September 17, back at BC3!
