Pennsylvania made a groundbreaking change this year, replacing "child po*******hy" with child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in state law.

Our CEO of Global and External Affairs, Abbie Newman, played a key role on the panel that championed this change and recently discussed its importance in an interview with KYW Newsradio. The term "po*******hy" wrongly implies consent—something children can never give. This is about clarity, compassion, and justice.

As Montgomery County Prosecutor Lauren Marvel explained, accurately naming these crimes validates survivors' experiences and underscores the severity of their exploitation. Calling it what it is—documentation of abuse—is vital to understanding the seriousness of these crimes.
