THE MONDAY MASONIC CHARGE By Zachary Stocking Sr. ~ The first day of the week is given to us that we may set in order the affairs of life, both within and without.

As the sun rises from the Eastern horizon, so should the Mason arise from the slumber of indolence and step into the Light of purpose, governed by Reason and guided by the eternal Laws.

Let Industry be your constant labor, not for the praise of men, but for the perfecting of your soul.

Time, that subtle and sacred stream, flows equally for all, yet is recovered by none. Employ each moment as a working tool, and let no day pass without leaving some stone more truly squared.

Remember: it is not what you build without that sanctifies, but what you build within, aligned to Truth, Justice, and Light.

Thus, may your labors on this day be acceptable in the sight of the Great Architect of the Universe.

WHAT IS A MASON?

A Mason is a man—and a Brother—
who is square in all that he compasses.
He possesses a right understanding and a firm grip upon his principles;
thus, he bears no complaint to lodge against life.
By remaining a faithful apprentice to duty,
he rises to become a master of himself—and, by example, of others.
And so, whatever his degree,
he fulfills an honorable journey—
from his first initiation into the order of humanity,
until he is called to receive the final password.

“Yes… Steve Wozniak was a Freemason.” 🍎📐

Co-founder of Apple.
Engineer. Innovator. Builder.

In 1980, Steve Wozniak was initiated into Charity Lodge No. 362 in Campbell, California.

But here’s the part most people don’t talk about—

He didn’t join for status.
He didn’t join for business.
He joined… to spend more time with his girlfriend, who was part of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Simple as that.

Wozniak didn’t remain active in the Craft, and over the years stepped away from participation—though he reportedly maintained a life membership.

And that’s an important reminder:

Freemasonry isn’t about famous names on a list.
It’s about the men who show up.

Titles don’t build the man.
Work does.

Even among some of the most brilliant minds in history…
the value of Masonry is only realized through active effort and engagement.

The question isn’t who joined.
It’s who stayed… and did the work.

MASONIC REGULARITY

Regular: Regularity is a constitutional mechanism whereby Grand Lodges or Grand Orients give one another mutual recognition. This recognition allows formal interaction at the Grand Lodge level, and gives individual Freemasons the opportunity to attend meetings at Lodges in other recognized jurisdictions.

Irregular: This is a description of practice. For instance, a regular lodge can confer a degree in an irregular manner: George Washington was raised as a master Mason before he was 21 years old, a practice that, at the time, was considered irregular. This does not change that he was a regular Mason. Some irregular bodies are irregular for not having a VSL displayed. As far as the irregular Grand Lodge/Lodge this can be corrected by what is called a healing process. An irregular Lodge is actually one not being or acting in accordance with the laws, rules, or established customs of the fraternity.

Clandestine: A clandestine lodge is one that pretends to be Masonic but is without a warrant, dispensation, or charter from a regular/recognized grand lodge. Mackey (History of Freemasonry) states: “The (Anderson) Constitutions declare, Section 8, that where a number of Freemasons shall take upon themselves to form a Lodge without a Grand Master’s Warrant, the regular Lodges are not to countenance them nor own them are fair brethren, and duly formed. In other words, Lodge formed without a Warrant from the Grand Master (we now say Grand Lodge) is “clandestine,” and so a “clandestine Masons” is one made in a Lodge without a Warrant.”

Recognize: When One Grand Lodge recognizes another, it acknowledges its Masonic regularity, authority, and territorial integrity. Such recognition, in order to be effectual, must be mutual. When such a recognition is finally given by a more senior Grand Lodge to a Junior Grand Lodge, (it is always the Junior Grand Lodge that applies for recognition) the two Grand Lodges are said to be in amity, mutual in*******se, or fraternal relations. The processes whereby one Grand Lodge recognizes another often involve, and are sometimes preceded by a settlement of prior differences, if any. The most usual method of assessing the regularity of an unrecognized Grand Lodge petitioning for recognition involves the seeking out of the opinions of other Grand Lodges already recognized. (Henderson, op cit. p. 15)

Amity: Grand Lodges and Grand Orients that afford mutual recognition and allow intervisitation are said to be in amity. As far as the UGLE is concerned, regularity is predicated upon a number of landmarks, set down in the UGLE Constitution and the Constitutions of those Grand Lodges with which they are in amity. Even within this definition, there are some variations with the quantity and content of the Landmarks from jurisdiction to jurisdiction.
