Luna went camping with us this weekend and did awesome. We were at another site for dinner last night and she laid on the ground the whole time. Even with kids from 5-15 coming and going. She's great with our friends dog.

Luna is definitely a "keeper". EASY GOING dog!

Foster Report- Luna is extremely smart. We don't have to put up the gate. She just relaxes in the family room unless I'm upstairs, she'll follow me up.

She hates the crate and learned her way out today. She was on the couch waiting for us with her tail wagging. Make it very difficult to be stern with her....so was so happy to see us and sweet.

The beginning of May Luna was ready to be sent to her foster.....
And we are learning just how incredible this low key girl really is. Right from the beginning she settled in. She's living in a home with another dog and with a cat and doing well. She's laid back-not hyper. And, she's beautiful and mindful and loving.

Luna is thought to be around 3-4 years old. She's medium sized and likely a hound/retriever/shepherd mix.

Transported from Sampson to our vet Luna was brought current on all vaccines, spayed, treated for heart worm, microchipped and made ready to head to her foster home in the northeast.

She was posted by the shelter in NC as urgent with no interest by rescue because she was heart worm positive.That should...

She was posted by the shelter in NC as urgent with no interest by rescue because she was heart worm positive.

That should not have been a death sentence. Often we see dogs overlooked because of the cost to treat for heart worm. Adopters can't afford to take on that medical expense and rescues can pick up dogs that don't need treatment- there are so many needing rescue- why take on extra expense.

Another concern was that Luna had recently had puppies. None were with her and we assume they were all adopted but mom was left behind.

Taking those that stand less of a chance and who are urgent is something we don't turn away from and so we looked forward to her being A DIAMOND DOG!
