What if you could step into the future and receive guidance from a version of you who is thriving, fulfilled, and contributing to the more beautiful world we all know is possible?✨

This month at the Solarpunkification Art Exhibition in San Francisco, Day Sanchez, steward of , led a group of future builders, artists, visionaries, designers, technologists, and systems thinkers through a Future Memory Collective Art Experience—bringing them into a future where they are aligned with their purpose, contributing their gifts to the world, and deeply connected to their Ikigai.

Through special guided meditation, participants received insights from their future selves, bringing back wisdom to shape their present paths. Then, we translated those visions into art, merging them onto a shared canvas—a collective map of possibility🎨✨

A huge thank you to everyone who participated in the Future Memory experience, and deep gratitude to CrowdDoing, Bobby Fishkin and the Solar Punkification team for making this gathering possible. So many powerful seeds were planted this month thanks to Bobby!🌱

We already see incredible manifestations emerging from this convergence of visionary humans who are already building a brighter future today!

The Bay Area is such an incredible vortex of creativity, innovation,& activism, and it’s been amazing to connect with so many brilliant beings doing meaningful work for our planet. So much magic unfolding in the months and years to come!

Abela Art Faire is an experimental lab in the form of a 3-day Artistic gathering that explores themes of regeneration through relational artistic production🌈🎨👩🏻‍🎨

Join a cool group of artists, experimentalists, and explorers that will co-create a radical new form of artistic freedom, enhanced with technology in service to the earth.

You can join us on Saturday for a day filled with artistic input or for the whole weekend.

Day from will also be facilitating super fun Imagination workshops leading into an intuitive art exploration and collective art co-creation, planting the seeds for the future we are ready to create today!🌱🌎✨

Hosted by Day Sanchez, mental health specialist, the circle opens with a brief introduction to eco-emotions, such as eco-anxiety and ecological grief, and a discussion on how to work with these emotions proactively and sustainably. Then, Day will lead a series of guided past and future memory meditations where people can visualize their unique role in building a regenerative future and transform a past memory into fuel and inspiration to create a brighter future for all.

How do we remain mindful in the ecological crisis we're living in? How do we lead - ourselves, our families, our communities, our wider circles of influence - when facing ecoanxiety and other emotions related to the loss of the world we once knew? How do we connect to the heart and lead from a place of love, strength, and wisdom during difficult times?

Our founding director Jennifer Harvey Sallin and fellow gifted psychologist, climate activist and founder of 2eminds, Dayana (Day) Sanchez, will be exploring these questions and challenges together in a public discussion free and open to all.

To start the session, Jennifer will lead listeners in a mindfulness meditation focused on helping us connect with our different leadership selves - the self-leader, the relational leader, and the ideas leader within. Following this guided meditation, Jennifer and Day will explore these themes in a conversational format, taking listeners' questions live, and offering their insights and curiosities from their practice as psychologists and climate activists.

"They represent a kind future, filled with magic & health. They are the representation of the small hope of a brighter tomorrow, that must be maintained through the delicate harmony with nature. They are the symbol of the small actions we take every day to ensure a better world around us. One that is filled with diligence, care, & respect for nature.

Standing next to the old man is REVR-E (Roving Environmental Visibility/Researcher, gen Epsilon), an android tasked with overseeing the operation of the wisps, & managing larger-scale research & human interfacing. Androids like REVR-E, while neither male, female, or even human, are a representation of the new hope for humanity in the form of technology designed for the benefit of all. In such a future,there is no divide between humans on the basis of gender, race, s*x, religion, etc. Humanity is not just blindly viewed as equals. Instead, humanity is valued for its equity & diversity. Everyone brings a unique perspective & skill to the table. Here we see the results of the new society. This robot, who is a child of the collective intellect & treasures of humanity, is taking the torch from the old man, to help ensure a better future for his children, & so they can afford peace & rest.

Through cooperation & hard work, these characters contribute to a life-affirming society. In this future, everyone cares in different capacities. No role is too small or insignificant. Everyone is taking care of everyone, & we see the peaceful benefit from this compassion. By caring for the world around them, they are, in turn, caring for themselves. They work with nature, not against it, & help ensure that the generations after them will be able to see, habitate, & appreciate the Earth around them.

In all, this piece demonstrates the greatest hope of humanity. The earth is healing, humanity is able to reach their highest potential through embracing their inherent, though sometimes dormant kindness, & the children of humanity, biological or otherwise, continue to carry on the message of hope & compassion."

"A popular misconception, that fosters pessimism about the future & technology, is the idea that technology only causes destruction. This is, unfortunately, not an unrealistic or uncommon mentality due to people witnessing the absolute worst of technology in war, pollution, disinformation, etc...

Despite witnessing wars, famine, plague, & the absolute worst behaviors of humanity, I do not believe that humans are inherently evil. On the contrary, humans at their core are unbelievably kind and good. The majority of people, when they are able, do want to help their neighbor, feed the hungry, heal the broken, & be happy with one another.

With this piece, I wanted to capture the spirit of the greatest good of technology. In this piece, the older man is a representation of the old guard. He is an environmentalist who has poured blood, sweat, & tears to fight for a better future for the planet. Despite age and mechanical enhancements that aid with his work, he realizes that his time on Earth is not meant to be permanent. He knows he must pass the torch to a new guard, to protect & heal the future around them.

The old man is imparting his wisdom, compassion, & the duty of taking care of the Earth to a new generation. This new generation is not one that is expected from the eyes of the past. While historically, humans watched over the forest, climate change reparations included gradually introducing non-invasive technology to assist humanity's stewardship efforts.

While it might not be obviously visible, floating among the trees are robotic will-o'-the-wisps. In this future, humanity has infused the wisdom of old traditions with the science of a new, prosperous age. These wisps diligently patrol the forest, analyzing the environment for plant health & longevity, injury to animals, or lost hikers in the woods. While small & seemingly blending into the forest, their role is anything but..." ~Shiloh Miller

Did you want to participate but felt “underqualified” to submit an entry?

Well, you are in luck! Solarpunk Generation is joining forces with Solarpunk Surf Club ( Solarpunk Surf Club on IG/FB and on Twitter) with the shared mission of encouraging more Solarpunk Art!

Solarpunk Surf Club is hosting the perfect class for you to work on your Solarpunk art contest submission!

Check out their ten-week “Solarpunk, Art, and Social Ecological Aesthetics” course starting on February 1st.

Students will work towards a project & develop it & refine it over 10 weeks in a community of peers. You can work on your submission piece for the Solarpunk art contest & even receive feedback & critique at the end of the course.

If you haven’t submitted your piece, you’ll have until the end of April to enter the contest. You are not required to take the class to enter this contest, but we highly encourage you join them!

If you have already submitted an entry, thank you! You are welcome to submit more 🎨The more, the merrier!

First time hearing about this Solarpunk art contest?

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to create a visual representation of a person or group of people engaged in an action or behavior aligned with Solarpunk.

The contest is open to all children, young people, & adults. Everyone is qualified!
