🚨 Code Orange Air Quality Alert for Alamance County 🚨

The air is not passing the vibe check.

A Code Orange Air Quality Action Day is in effect from midnight tonight through midnight Friday night due to ground-level ozone.

That means air quality may be unhealthy for some people, especially children, older adults, people who are active outdoors, and anyone with asthma, breathing concerns, or heart conditions.

✅ Keep outdoor play short
✅ Take breaks inside
✅ Choose calmer activities
✅ Watch for coughing, wheezing, or shortness of breath
✅ Save the running, jumping, and big outdoor adventures for a better air day

Fresh air is great, but today we are choosing smart air. Stay safe, Alamance! 🌤️

We’re excited to partner with Triad Goodwill to promote The Basics Alamance through Free Book Fridays. The Basics is another wonderful FREE resource for the parents of children ages 0-5, designed to help you build your child’s brain through small, everyday moments.

Screens are part of everyday life, but balance matters. 📱

A new reminder from the U.S. Surgeon General highlights what many families already feel: too much screen time can affect children’s sleep, mental health, physical activity, and real life connection.

This is not about being perfect or banning every device. It is about creating healthy habits. Try tech free meals, screen free bedtime routines, outdoor play, and more face to face moments whenever you can.

And when you do allow screen time, make it count. Look for content that is productive, interactive, and educational. Great options like PBS KIDS can help children learn, explore, and engage in meaningful ways.

Small changes can make a big difference for growing minds. 💙

You can livestream Rootle PBS KIDS from anywhere in our viewing area. Watch online now!
