🚨 Creator Jam applications close Monday, August 31!

It’s almost time to build some teams, make some shorts, and see what you can create in 30 days. 🎬✨

Creator Jam brings together artists and storytellers from across the animation community to create original animated shorts from the ground up. You don’t need to find a team yourself. Everyone applies individually, and we randomly assemble teams based on the roles people sign up for, making sure each team has the crew it needs to create a short.

We’re open for applications in all of our roles, including Production Manager, Creative Lead, Writer, Story Artist, Designer, Animator, Editor, Composer, and Voice Actor.

Right now, we’re a little short on Animators and Designers compared to the other roles. That means adding more people in those areas helps us build more complete teams, which means more people get the opportunity to participate in Creator Jam this year! So if you’re an Animator or Designer, we’d especially love to see your application. 🙌

And if you’re worried about the workload, don’t be. Story Artists, Designers, and Animators work closely together throughout the process, figuring out how to make the most of the time each person has. Not every idea needs to become a fully animated sequence. It’s about finding the right opportunities to add movement, design, and visual storytelling while working within your team’s schedule and resources.

Production Month: September 12 – October 11
Virtual Premiere: October 17 🎥

Creator Jam is a chance to build your portfolio, show off your skills, meet other people in the animation industry, and discover what you can create when you work with a new team.

And some of those connections can last well beyond Creator Jam. Many past teams have gone on to collaborate on other projects together. 🤝

This Tuesday, Creators Society celebrated our 11 Year Anniversary, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate than surrounded by this incredible community.

Thank you to everyone who came out, shared stories, made new connections, and helped make the evening so special. It’s amazing to look back at everything we’ve built together over the past 11 years, and even more exciting to think about what’s still ahead.

Whether you’ve been with us since the beginning or just joined recently, thank you for being part of this journey. Here’s to another year of supporting, inspiring, and creating together.

What a fantastic evening at our Animation vs. Live Action: The Composer Perspective panel!

A huge thank you to Matt Novack for sharing stories and insights from his incredible 20-year career, spanning both live action comedies and acclaimed animated productions like Harley Quinn, Helluva Boss, Scooby-Doo: Where Are You Now!, and Space Chimps. It was fascinating to hear how the creative process, collaboration, production workflows, and storytelling differ between composing for animation and live action.

Thank you as well to Jason Poss for guiding such an engaging conversation and asking thoughtful questions that gave everyone a deeper look into the craft of composing for both mediums.

We’re so grateful to Matt, Jason, and everyone who joined us for another inspiring night of learning, networking, and celebrating the art of animation. We can’t wait to see you at the next Creators Society event! Also thank you to First Entertainment Credit Union | Banking for Creators for letting us use the amazing space.

Register Now! Join us for a Q&A with Producer Jed Schlanger. Jed worked at Dreamworks Animation for 19 years before joining Netflix to team with Chris Williams on his epic film The Sea Beast. After an Oscar nomination, Chris and Jed are working on a bold new fantasy film at Netflix.

Jed will share his insights in Production, as well as what a VO Artist might expect in a recording session. Creators Society membership required. See bio for registration link.

Apply Now! Space is limited. PopUp VO is a low pressure 90 minute voice acting experience built around cold reads, voiceover games, and creative connection.

Each session is designed to help you step outside your comfort zone, build voiceover skills, and have fun with fellow creatives in a relaxed setting. Each 90 minute session will be limited to 10 selected participants. Creators Society membership required. See bio for registration link.
