Rooster Sprout
Today my class and I whipped up this goofy little “Rooster Sprout,” and the kids were *so* proud of their tiny farm buddy. It’s super simple:
1. Cut out one cup from an egg carton and paint it your favorite rooster color.
2. Add a paper beak, a comb, and some googly eyes (the sillier the better).
3. Nestle a half eggshell in the center — that’s the “planter.”
4. Fill the shell with a bit of soil and sprinkle in fast‑growing seeds like chia or grass.
5. Give it a little water and let your rooster grow its wild green “hair.”
The kids loved watching theirs sprout day by day. Such an easy win for classroom creativity.
