* The Red Ribbon Campaign is the nation’s oldest and largest drug prevention program. The campaign began in 1985 after the murder of DEA Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena by drug traffickers in Mexico. Red ribbons became a symbol of intolerance toward drug use and continue to represent the commitment to living a drug free life. ❤️

Today, we attended the Meadview Community Meeting, where we had the opportunity to share an important update with residents: the creation of our new Northwest District.

As our rural communities continue to grow, so does the demand for law enforcement services. The Northwest District was created in response to population growth and increased calls for service throughout the northern portion of Mohave County, allowing us to dedicate greater attention and resources to the communities we serve.

The new district encompasses Golden Valley, Chloride, Dolan Springs, White Hills, Meadview, and the North Highway 93 corridor to the Nevada State Line and will be overseen by Lieutenant Padilla and Sergeant McCool.

We are especially grateful for the support and positive feedback we received from the citizens in attendance today. Strong relationships with our rural communities are essential to effective law enforcement, and their continued involvement and support help us better understand and respond to the needs of each community.

Mohave County is growing, and your Sheriff’s Office is growing with it. We look forward to what the Northwest District will bring to the residents of northern Mohave County and to continuing the partnerships that make these communities stronger and safer.

Thank you, Meadview, for welcoming us today and for your continued support of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.
