Read to Succeed Community Alignment for Reading Excellence. Creating a community-wide priority on literacy for children from birth to age 8.

RTSB works to prepare children from birth through age eight for Kindergarten and the early grades through improved exposure to developmentally appropriate, literacy-rich environments. Through its collaborative initiatives, RTSB has developed models that provide children with the tools they need to be successful in school. With the help of Buffalo's three largest foundations and collaboration with nearly 60 local organizations who share our mission to improve literacy in our community, RTSB works to give children the tools they need to get a successful start in school and in life.

The beginning of the month is the perfect time to start your fall activity calendar!

This calendar was created to give additional no or low-cost activity ideas to parents of young children ages 0-5. These activities support the development of early literacy and language skills, laying the foundation for lifelong reading and learning habits.

You or your child can color the squares as you complete them.

PS 93 Southside Elementary veteran tutor/mentor Dr. Lar McNally and his 3rd grade students read the book Don't Bump the Glump! at their last tutoring session. This Shel Silverstein book has poems about creepy creatures like the Gritchen and the Glub-Toothed Sline.

His students were inspired to create their own creepy creatures and wrote poems about them too! It was a fun and creative end to the school year.
