Last night was full of beautiful conversation and beautiful people.

We want to give a sincere thank you to all of our panelists who took time in their day to be vulnerable and share personal experiences in order to educate everyone in the room about what manhood looks and feels like for them.

We also want to thank every single person in the audience who participated in the conversation or even just gave the respect to everyone who was sharing and just listened.

Directions for tonight:
Ujima Theater Company is located inside of an old school building. The entrance is on Plymouth Ave (your GPS may take you on Normal Ave.)
There is a parking lot on the Plymouth Ave side as well as street parking. If you park on Normal you will need to walk around the building to the Plymouth side of the building.

The entrance is the door on the left (if you’re facing the building)! We will be there to greet you and show you to the community room!

We took a 2 year hiatus but we’re back!

Even with our break we came back with our same mission:
🍒 reduce barriers of getting STI tested (free event)
🍒 reduce stigma around talking about sexual health and getting tested
🍒 increase STI testing rates and decrease STI rates (11 people got tested at the event)

We will continue to reduce the stigma around talking about sexual health. mentioned during the panel that something that can bring life (pregnancy) or cause death (contracting infections to your partner, troubles during birth, etc) shouldn’t be something that is taboo to talk about. S*x needs to be talked about!

What is Pop ‘n Play?

Pop 'N Play: A S*x Positive Event is a three-hour community level intervention (delivered in one session) designed by Black/African-American straight and LGBTQ+ identifying young adults FOR Black/African-American straight and LGBTQ+ identifying young adults.

The event is held four times per year around the city of Buffalo as a “Pop Up” event; its purpose being to increase access to STI screening, knowledge of STI prevention, and normalization of sexual health and identities. It is a safe, fun, event featuring activities that promote sexual wellness and decrease STD related stigma.
