✨ A Rare Invitation ✨

We’re honored to host a special teaching series this fall: Jigme Lingpa’s Yönten Dzöd, or Treasury of Precious Qualities, with H.E. Chung Rinpoche.

📿 What it is: Written by Jigme Lingpa in 1779-80, this thirteen-chapter treatise spans from the Hinayana teachings all the way to Dzogchen, according to the Nyingma tradition. Thus it serves as a single text covering the entire Buddhist curriculum, an invaluable tool for modern practitioners wishing to support and stabilize their path, especially in cultivating hearing and contemplative wisdom.

Part One (Sat Oct 3 – Jan 9) covers the first nine chapters, grounding us in impermanence, karma, refuge, bodhichitta, and the bodhisattva trainings.
The very foundation that allows practitioners on whatever stage of the path to hold their experience skillfully and turn it toward real benefit for others.

🙏 Why this teacher: Chung Rinpoche is one of only two living holders of the Yangti Nakpo, carrying an unbroken transmission rooted in the Dzogchen tradition of Bhutan. He received this transmission directly from Khenchen Pema Sherab Rinpoche of Namdrolling Monastery, and is recognized as the mind reincarnation of Trulshik Dongak Lingpa. To learn from him is to enter into the stream of this living tradition.

🕊️ Proceeds support Chung Rinpoche’s nunnery, Tshogyel Lungtok Tengayling, in Bhutan’s Paro valley.

Our upcoming Yangti Nakpo transmission with H.E. Chung Tulku Rinpoche is a rare opportunity to receive the first of three volumes of texts brought from Tibet by the great ngakpa Khetsun Zangpo Rinpoche: over 500 pages of history, empowerment, and practice teachings found nowhere else. It's a direct connection to a profound living lineages. What makes this event even more special is that 100% of the proceeds will be directed to support the Tshogyel Lungtok Tengayling nunnery in Paro, Bhutan.

Known locally as Chorten Gangkha, the nunnery sits on sacred ground, home to the 12th century Gyelshel Karmai Chorten, said to house relics of Sangay Yoesung, a principal disciple of Buddha Shakyamuni. The nunnery itself was reconstituted by the 9th Neyphug Tulku, who gifted its custodianship to H.E. Chung Rinpoche in recognition of their monastic friendship, a role he formally marked in 2022 with the commissioning of a golden pinnacle for the stupa.

The nuns of Tshogyel Lungtok Tengayling live and practice here, rooted in the Nyingthig, Peling, and Yangti Nakpo traditions. Their days are given to spiritual cultivation and the quiet, ongoing preservation of Bhutan's Buddhist heritage.

In our most recent trip to Bhutan last January we had the pleasure of traveling around Bumthang with a small group of nuns from the nunnery. Towards the end of our travels, the nuns generously invited us to join them in their temple where they bestowed a healing ritual of the Laughter of the Dakini Chöd followed by a beautiful lunch on their grounds. Our entire group was quite moved by the time spent with these nuns and left feeling urgently inspired to find ways to support them in the coming year. 100% of the proceeds from this event will go to support the nunnery, marking the beginning of Yangti's formal support for this community.

One can find more details about the nunnery and the ways in which we hope to support them on our website. Or can visit the link in our bio to learn more about this event and to register.

We warmly invite you to the online teaching series on Rigdzin Jigme Lingpa’s Yönten Dzöd (Treasury of Precious Qualities), Part One: The Teachings on Sutra, with His Eminence Chung Tulku Rinpoche.

Saturdays, October 3rd, 2026 – January 9th, 2027, 7am–9am ET (5pm–7pm Bhutan time) with instruction by Chung Rinpoche.

Over the course of thirteen chapters, Jigme Lingpa’s Yönten Dzöd offers a clear and progressive vision of the Buddhist path, moving from Sutra to Ta**ra to Dzogchen. Part One focuses on the first nine chapters on Sutra, grounding practitioners in ethics and the cultivation of Bodhichitta, essential supports for any practitioner as they move into higher teachings. Chung Rinpoche offers these teachings to nurture and enrich practice at any level of experience, whether you are new to the path or deep into the Yangti Nakpo or other Dzogchen practices. Rinpoche received the transmission and instruction on the Yönten Dzöd from Khenchen Pema Sherab Rinpoche, one of the three great khenpos at Namdrolling Monastery.

As one of two major living holders of the Yangti Nakpo, Chung Rinpoche carries an unbroken transmission of one of the rarest and most direct cycles of dark retreat practice within Vajrayana Buddhism. We feel exceptionally fortunate to host this series, and to support Chung Rinpoche’s nunnery, Tshogyel Lungtok Tengayling, in the Paro valley of Bhutan, through the proceeds of this event.

Naturally Liberating Whatever You Meet
Khenpo Gangshar Wangpo’s Dzogchen Instructions with Lama Justin

📅 September 9–15 | 4:00–5:30 PM EDT
🌏 September 10–16 | 8:00–9:30 AM NZST

Join Lama Justin for this week-long teaching series on Khenpo Gangshar’s Dzogchen instructions known as Naturally Liberating Whatever You Meet. These instructions are profound, concise, and easy to put into practice. They can be considered stand-alone instructions, and also act as a helpful counter support for an existing trekchö or mahāmudrā practice.

Trained at Shechen Monastery in Tibet, Khenpo Gangshar became one of Chögyam Trungpa’s most important teachers, starting off as his tutor and then becoming an influential dzogchen teacher. Khenpo Gangshar was quick to understand that the Chinese invasion was imminent and decided that dzogchen and mahāmudrā instructions should be made more available for as many people as possible due to the impending chaos and destabilization that was coming. Instructions like these are powerful when put into practice correctly and offer people a rich way to explore how to let appearance self-liberate.

In times like these, when our world and much of what we see in the United States seems chaotic, and when global suffering and environmental collapse is undeniable, these instructions are vitally important. These instructions are even more vital for those who are feeling stuck, lost or blocked by excessive superstitious religiosity within their practice, or when people are being denied the liberating instructions for no good reason. In this respect, Khenpo Gangshar’s commitment to connecting people to methods that liberate them is all the more important and timely.

This event will be a supportive, practical, dynamic presentation of Khenpo Gangshar’s instructions. The 7-day program will be recorded for participants who are unable to attend live.

Join us on the Yangti land in Buckland, Massachusetts for our 𝐹𝒶𝓁𝓁 𝑀𝑒𝓁𝒶: 𝒟𝑒𝓈𝒸𝑒𝓃𝓉 𝒾𝓃𝓉𝑜 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝒮𝑒𝒶𝓈𝑜𝓃 𝑜𝒻 𝒟𝒶𝓇𝓀𝓃𝑒𝓈𝓈

A gathering of sangha for practice, connection, and Dzogchen teachings. This long weekend offers an opportunity to come together as a community for group meditation, protector practice, shared meals, and teachings with Lama Justin von Bujdoss.

Drawing on pith instructions from the great 14th-century Tibetan Dzogchen master Longchenpa, Lama Justin will offer guidance on Togal, Longchenpa’s darkness-based instructions inviting us to work with the visions and luminosity that arise in practice.

These teachings are offered in alignment with the seasonal shift. Fall is a time of fading light and increased darkness, of the natural world receding from lightness and solar warmth descending into the fecund lunar coldness and the composted potentiality nurtured by darkness. Longchenpa’s Togal instructions meet this moment by pointing us toward the luminous nature of mind and the spontaneous arising of awareness experienced in the dark. This is an opportunity to align our practice with the rhythms of nature, when the land itself is preparing itself for the inevitable return of the darkness of winter.

Each day will be structured around a balance of dharma teaching and Q&A with Lama Justin, time for individual practice and integration, hiking and exploring the retreat land, connecting with sangha, as well as a group lunch and protector practice.
