We were proud to hold a ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of the Buckshot Disc Golf at McCoy Creek Recreation Area in Buchanan this week alongside the City of Buchanan Michigan and Buchanan Area Parks & Recreation. 🥏⛳️

Buckshot Disc Golf was made possible by a $10,000 Promoting Active Communities (PAC) grant the City received through the Michigan Fitness Foundation. A group of community members representing the parks, the Trail, local schools, and the City reviewed and inventoried Buchanan’s fitness and activity assets. They agreed a disc golf course would be an excellent addition. Local residents had already asked the City to pursue a course, and those dedicated volunteers designed the course and helped installed the equipment. It was truly a community effort.

We are proud to support new outdoor recreation investments like this, which create more opportunities for residents and visitors to get outdoors, stay active and connect with one another!

The Chamber, along with students from Moccasin Elementary, the City of Buchanan Michigan and Buchanan Area Parks & Recreation, was excited to hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Kathryn Park playground at 315 Moccasin St. on Monday.

For more than 100 years, Kathryn Park has been a favorite for Buchanan families. Nestled in a neighborhood near Moccasin Elementary, the park was named a top priority for new equipment in the Buchanan Area Recreation Board’s master plan. The board helped choose the equipment and design the space. Then dozens of local volunteers joined Buchanan’s Department of Public Works to install everything in under two days. The park has been busy ever since! 🛝

The Buchanan Track & Field Boosters are hosting their 1st Annual Buck Run!

Okay, here's the skinny. As everyone has said the city door to door trick or treating is from 6 to 8pm. The Main St. Street Dance is from 7 to 9pm (might start earlier if we are set up and might go later if there are lots of people). Reason for these hours: We wanted people to be able to go door to door and then come to the dance. The dance is open and free, you can come when you want. Like after trick or treating or maybe do trick or treating for an hour then come downtown. There will be lots of people downtown on the street trick or treating and then coming to the dance. We didn't want to do the dance after the 6 to 8 door to door because it would be too late for some kids. We thought this out and this was the best solution. Please try and come downtown, adults can dance too. Also if you can't find information please "follow" the
Buchanan Business Boosters page, it has all of the events going on. Come on down and do the Mash, the Monster Mash.
