Cairnwood Village residents and guests are enjoying a presentation by Julie Uber, whom Kathy Simonsintroduced.

Our artists for the summer, Julie is presenting a collection entitled "Art: Teaching and Learning." It presents a great variety of art that she has done over the years associated with the Pittsburgh school. Her grasp of many media is incredible, including painting, clay, glass, calligraphy, and needlework.

Julie Uber, Raphael Arzuega, and members of the Cairnwood Village Art Committee are busy today hanging Julie Uber's show. It should be up by the afternoon!

She will be talking tonight after dinner at Cairnwood Village. The show will be up through the summer, the end of August.

Note the series of pictures on the left, which are yearly sayings from the word that Julie illustrates every year.

Also notice some of the ceramics that Julie has that will be for sale tonight only!

Cairnwood Village residents had a festive Memorial Day picnic today. We have several picnics a year. Carol Nash, who is president of our Residents Association, organizes these. Bobby Johns grills the meat and Rosanne Bostock helps serve. All of us provide snacks and desserts to go along with the hamburgers and hot dogs!

Brenda Rydstrom introduced her daughter, Maggie Lindrooth who is U.S Director of The American Center for Mongolian Studies. She was introduced to Mongolia through a Fulbright Fellowship.
