Cairnwood Village residents and guests are learning about the Bryn Athyn archives from Greg Jackson, Director of the Archives for the Academy system.

The Archives preserve the history of the Academy, the General Church and much of the history of Bryn Athyn.

We had such a celebration of life for Gael Coffin today. Here is a reel I made to thank the Coffin family for the bequest of Gael's fox prints. They will certainly add to the Cairnwood Village collection of New Church artists.

Cairnwood Village residents and guests are enjoying a musical performance by the Station Hill Blue Grass group. The members are Matt Synnestvedt on guitar, Scott Russell on bass, Keith Gruber on banjo, and Ed Woomer on dobro.

A mix of bluegrass, folk, and classic rock songs are part of their repertoire, which we are all very much enjoying!

Today we honored the memory of Beryl Cranch Simonetti, a good friend to many residents in Cairnwood Village and the community of Bryn Athyn.

These posts show a picture of Beryl and her husband Paul, who deceased her by about 3 or 4 years. And the memoir book that she wrote about her year of being immersed in psychosynthesis.

And two little videos, one of the circular slide rule that women engineers carried because their dresses did not have pockets long enough for the long linear slide rule that was used. Beryl was one of the very early women electrical engineers working on computers. The second little video shows a color-coded system she developed for scheduling for the Bryn Athyn schools, which has been translated into an electronic version by Rosanne Bostock and then by Neil Simonetti.

The lobby shows more of her barrels, fantastic needlework, her miniatures, and the doll she created for her children and grandchildren. It will be up until tomorrow, Sunday.

Cairnwood Village residents and guests are enjoying hearing Pete Stevens talk about the Cairnwood Village Art Committee's functions, and to introduce the 2026 Autumn Art Show.

The show exhibits pieces from about twenty residents of Cairnwood Village. Many media are included - oil, acrylic, photography, fiber art, needlework, crochet, quilting, knitting, haute couture, and more!

The show is up until Thanksgiving.

We organized the art we received from Cairnwood Village residents , and we have hung the show! Stalwart members of the Cairnwood Village Art Committee, Brenda Rydstrom, who organized, Kathy Simons, Rosanne Bostock, and a high school helper, Hilyer, took 4 hours and hung the show on Saturday.

Do come to the opening on Tuesday night at 7 pm, when Pete Stevens from the Cairnwood Village Art Committee will give a short presentation, followed by a time to meet and greet all the artists and have them talk about their artwork.

Tryn Rose Seley the presenter for the Home Church Monthly 'Bring Your Own Brunch' today on the topic 'Bringing Out the Best: Creativity and Dementia.' A full group is enjoying singing songs we all remember and art created by people with dementia.

The monthly event is held in the Sunroom of Cairnwood Village on the second Saturday of each month at 10am.
