🍂 THANK YOU, OAK GROVE ISLAND! 🍂
Well… Mother Nature apparently wanted an invitation to Fall Festival too. 😂🌧️
And despite the rain, Oak Grove Island SHOWED UP.
On behalf of the Oak Grove Island HBSEC, we want to sincerely thank everyone who helped make this year’s Fall Festival such a wonderful success.
First and foremost, thank you to our volunteers. These events simply would not be possible without neighbors and friends who give their time to help us set up, clean up, direct traffic, manage activities, solve unexpected problems and jump in wherever they’re needed. Much of what happens behind the scenes is never seen, but it absolutely matters.
A very special thank you to the Oak Grove Island Yacht Club for continually supporting our community and graciously allowing us to take up a little—or sometimes a lot—of space for these events. Your continued partnership and generosity help make these gatherings possible, and we appreciate it tremendously.
We also want to recognize our food trucks, artists, makers, creatives and vendors.
Something pretty remarkable has started happening: vendors are personally reaching out to us asking when our next event will be so they can make sure they’re part of it.
That says something about our community.
It means Oak Grove Island isn’t simply inviting vendors here—we’re supporting them, appreciating their creativity and hard work, and building genuine relationships with people and small businesses throughout our local community.
They thrive, we thrive.
To every returning vendor who continues choosing Oak Grove Island and every new vendor who took a chance on us this year: thank you. And an extra thank you to everyone who looked at today’s weather forecast, loaded everything up anyway and said, “We’re coming.” 😂☔️
Over the past several years, both former and current HBSEC committee members have dedicated countless hours, ideas, energy and, yes, occasionally some money from their own piggy banks to create experiences that bring Oak Grove Island together.
It isn’t always easy. Some events require considerably more work than others, and there’s an enormous amount that happens behind the scenes. But with teamwork—and a tremendous amount of help from our fellow neighbors and friends—we continue making it happen.
Over the past couple of years especially, we’ve watched our events grow with more activities, more variety and new experiences.
While we’re incredibly proud of that growth, we also hope everyone recognizes just how special what we have here really is.
There aren’t many neighborhoods where residents regularly come together for festivals, celebrations, movies, holiday events and community gatherings like ours.
And sure… we won’t complain if all this community spirit helps those property values a little too. 😂
But the real value is something you can’t put on a listing.
It’s knowing your neighbors.
It’s watching kids grow up together.
It’s supporting someone’s small business.
It’s seeing familiar faces at every event while continuing to meet new ones.
It’s creating memories in the place we all call home.
And that is community.
Finally, thank you to everyone who attended Fall Festival today.
You brought the umbrellas, rain jackets, rain boots—and most importantly, the good attitudes. You supported our vendors, ate some great food, participated in activities, laughed with one another and proved that a little rain wasn’t going to stop Oak Grove Island from having a good time.
The rain didn’t ruin Fall Festival.
It just gave this one a little personality. 🌧️🍂😂
We’ll leave everyone with one small assignment:
The next time you’re out in the neighborhood, introduce yourself to someone you don’t know yet.
Don’t be scary about it. 😂 Just say hello.
Because you never know when a stranger becomes a neighbor, a neighbor becomes a friend, and a collection of houses becomes a real community.
