💈 BARBERSHOP TALK: “RUNNING IT BACK!” — WHAT A DAY! 💈
Today was about so much more than FREE haircuts! It was about community, connection, meaningful conversations, and working toward real solutions!
The room was FULL, with standing room only at times! People showed up, pulled up a chair when one was available, shared their thoughts, listened, and engaged in conversations that truly matter to our community. The energy, participation, and willingness to have honest conversations reminded us why gatherings like this are so important!
One of the most meaningful moments was having Mr. Aldrid Battle, nephew of the late Jesse L. Battle, owner of the former Battle’s Barber Shop, join us and share what this event and space meant to him. To bring Barbershop Talk back to the very location where his uncle and father once operated their business was truly special. We weren’t just having conversations; we were honoring history while continuing a legacy of community connection.
There were so many great conversations, concerns, ideas, and possible solutions shared. But one thing is certain: We couldn’t discuss it all or resolve every issue in just a few hours. What matters is that the conversations have started, voices were heard, and the work must continue!
A heartfelt THANK YOU to our amazing barbers, Amp Woodard, Nigel Lawson Jr., Busta Woodard, and LaRon Moore, for giving your time, talents, and service to our community! 💈✂️
