Coastal Outreach Soccer soccer clubs who membership is underserved youth, literacy program, college tours, career exploration, leadership development

The Coastal Outreach Soccer Program is a coordinated effort involving the Glynn County School System, Brunswick Recreation Department, and local certified coaches. COS was founded in 2004 with 15 players from the Head Start program. By 2005 the program was providing activities for 60 youth annually. COS started as in-house recreational level soccer program with 1st generation soccer players and co

aches. Today the program has teams who have won Georgia Recreational and Parks District Titles in 2011 and 2012. Teams are now playing at the competitive level against clubs with more resources and larger player pool. Despite these odds, COS teams are very competitive and attract the attention of spectators as they travel in South Georgia and North Florida. Because COS is 1 out of 121 soccer clubs, who membership is underserved and under privilege youth.

Help create the next opportunity for our COS High School girls! Coastal Outreach Soccer at the Big Play Center of Excellence continues its HBCU College Soccer Series with a recruitment and development visit to Edward Waters University.

Our student-athletes will participate in a College ID Day with the Edward Waters University women’s soccer staff, gaining exposure, experience, and another chance to grow on and off the field.

New 2026-27 COS More Than Soccer Corporate Sponsor: AT&T
Coastal Outreach Soccer Family Fest at the Big Play Center of Excellence kicked off the 2026–27 program year. Based on their 2025–26 program commitment, COS student-athletes earned laptops donated by AT&T and Compudot. These 100 laptops provide essential technology to support students’ educational development.

Thank you to our community advocates, including the Brunswick Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce and Cedric King, for sharing the COS story and helping secure resources that benefit COS student-athletes, their families, and the Glynn County community.

Family Fest is Saturday, August 8!

Join Coastal Outreach Soccer from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Big Play Center of Excellence as we welcome families back for the 2026–27 program year and invite new families to connect with COS.

Families can complete fall registration for students ages 4–12, meet community partners, and enjoy food, music, soccer, and more. COS is a free-to-play program.

We are also proud to welcome AT&T as a new More Than Soccer sponsor. During Family Fest, eligible COS student-athletes will receive laptops provided by AT&T.

Thank you to the Golden Isles Rotary Club for supporting the development of our student-athletes (YoPro Leaders program).
COS students presented updates on their flood-solution work during the Rotary Club meeting, highlighting their continued commitment to community-based problem solving.
We are now moving into the next phase of the project: building a COS student-designed bioretention cell in partnership with the City of Brunswick to help reduce stormwater runoff at Howard Coffin Park.
